I use a Samsung Galaxy s4 (with android 4.4.2) and I use the Runtastic Pro application. I had a lot of difficulty to make it work out. The application provided by 60beat is not compatible with my mobile (strange for such a popular mobile).
I used the following applications that have helped me to make it work:
[...] It is possible to see if the mobile is compatible with "Bluetooth Low Energy". I advise you to run this app before buying this cardio.
[...]: You will be able to detect the cardio and see the heartbeat taking logs
[...]: With this app you can view your heart rate in graph form.
Instructions for Runtastic Pro:
1 / Put the sensor on you and moisten the belt
2 / Detect and associate bluetooth sensor life in Android directly. This phase was long enough for me, stay patient ...
3 / Use the apps mentioned above to see if communication is established between the mobile and sensor
4 / Stop all apps so as to disconnect the sensor
5 / Start Runtastic Pro, go to the app settings and try to detect as a Runtastic sensor. For some reason, even if the sensor appears in the list when selecting a generic cardio it does not.
Personally, for the price I took the risk to buy it and I do not regret it.
Good Courage !!!
PS: The heart has never been detected on my phone with the app SportsTracker
