War of the zombie film in the 1980s, a blood-dripping niche product for the Splatterfan, times have changed completely. After the brilliant TV series The Walking Dead has even made the undead horror in domestic television presentable, twitch many 'normal wedding' at the gorigen issue no longer together.
Of course, the content has been adapted mainstream moderate. The dirty charm of the early Italian works 'Cheap bloody paired with sometimes obviously handmade special effects' is gradually replaced by optically polished to shine Computer Tricks with Pixel blood.
A younger generation (and their money) is currently envisaged. A 16er released just brings more affluent customers to the movies than the red seal of the 18er-Rated. So also hammer hard Brutal effects of graphic violence will Logically presented not as detailed (if at all) than in the old-school zombie Exploitationfilmen the past.
They are for the less entertaining than before?
Yes and no, because it depends on you look at the film from which point of view.
WORLD WAR Z offers a variety of locales, as we know them from the typical Mainstreamern today. The fast staged action drives a while watching the adrenalin in the body. The optical rollercoaster ride leaves a flabbergasted sit there and be amazed. With all the panache it is hardly noticeable that neither fake blood still body parts fly (latex) through the area. The action seems to know no bounds. Visually hunts here a horrifying situation the next.
The action fan who shuns usually harder (and taste looser) zombie flicks, gets offered with World War Z a very good combination.
Note: I prefer the extended version of the film, since it involves seven minutes additional exciting action and uncensored pixels blood.
Bottom line, I would recommend World War Z in two versions.
