In principle, not bad, but in spite of size 47-50 is too small and too tight at the cuffs

I have these socks bought my husband, who has always daytime wear work shoes and socks reasonable needs. He has rather large feet (47.5) and so I was sure that they would fit, if I have the size 47-50
order. When unpacking, he turned up his nose because they seemed too small for him. For my sake, he then tried on a pair and even worn for one day. The result was deep bruising around the ankle because the cuffs were too tight.
It was worth a try - but now we have them sent back.
