SilverFast as a standalone quapplication
SilverFast installs as a standalone application by post called "SilverFast8" (or "SilverFast8_64 'on Windows 64bit machines) in your operating system program workbook.
SilverFast as a Photoshop plug-in of Adobe
The Photoshop plug SilverFast 8 works quavec filing editing software "Adobe Photoshop" from CS3 (10.0) and quavec Adobe programs, which support Adobe function "Native Plug-In Import" (eg Photoshop elements from 2.0.).
The installation of other plug-ins can cause problems. (In this case, contact our support for more details, please.)
USB and Firewire
Mac OS X: Disable FireWire Networking in the network configuration, if you do not need it.
Several of the picture editing devices connected from USB and Firewire
If you have multiple image of editing devices connected to the computer via a USB and / or Firewire, it can happen that the drivers interfere with one another.
In such cases (eg recognizable by means of the message "The scanner has not been found") sil please separate all other filing editing devices (other scanners, webcams, digicams and webcam feature, printing devices, scanning combined with fax, diagrams trays) of the computer and restart it, to see if the origin of the problem is well there.
Apple iSight and webcams Logitech Quickcam, as well as printing devices, scanning and fax HP and Brother are already known for the "uncooperative" drivers.
SCSI ID
The scanner is used to connect with computer from dune SCSI.
Check the selected SCSI ID is actually available and not already occupied by other components. SCSI IDs 0 and 7 are not remotely not SilverFast. Generally it is recommended the use of the ID 2, 4 or 5.
SCSI Controller Cards
The scanner normally supports most transfer modes. However, should problems occur, you might try, for example in the BIOS of the SCSI adapter to reduce the transfer rate below 10 MB / s. Check the accurate prediction of the SCSI bus.
Mac OS X: The latest OSX versions (from 10.3) noffrent quun more limited support for the SCSI device, for example, multiple controllers dAdaptec no longer work.

The use of two different scanning programs
