- The Player -
First, a few details to the Multimedia Player. From the size a bit like the first DVD I had, the device is much larger than today's standard Blu-ray player, which is probably the built-in amplifier. Nonetheless, sees the player with its slightly pyramidal shaped roof, the brilliant-luminous display, and the overall build quality of visually quite appealing.
The menu is designed quite appealing, but still could be built a little easier and clearer. If one has a while dealt with the menu, you can also find what you are looking for and can. make precise adjustments eg the 5.1.-loudspeaker system, change various system settings and reproduce natural image, audio and video media from various media or from networks. The wireless connection with my wireless home network proceeded without problems. Accordingly, I once could easily access such as the online offering of the evening news or on Youtube (the search string in Youtube is a bit awkward with the remote control, but with a little practice it is). Some preset online offerings are indeed somewhat questionable (eg div. Pay-Per-View pages). Oddly unrecognized the player my NAS drive via the wireless internet connection at first. Once I had the device connected to the router briefly via a LAN cable, and the NAS hard disk is then detected once, I could also access the Wi-Fi feature on the hard disk.
The greatest weakness of the player are the limited playback formats that affect the home theater experience something! FLV videos are not played, for example; Problems were found in several .mp4 / .avi video, where the player has hung. Weak I felt that some of my music collection (just me important albums that are stored in high quality .wav or .flac) could not play (mp3 certainly went smoothly).
Otherwise ran DVDs, Blu-Rays, 3D Blu-Rays and CDs properly. One annoying limitation of the oprischen media there was still: blown double-layer DVDs are played only by switching layers.
- The surround system -
Considering the price I am with the sound quality of the surround system actually quite pleased. Overall, however, do not have the highs much brilliance, while midrange and bass dominate. In particular, the subwoofer seems to me in the basic setting a bit too loud, but what you can constantly readjust the settings menu - thus making the sound more natural (at least for my taste).
I have tested several movies and I am absolutely satisfied with the surround sound. The "Right in the middle-feeling" is here clearly present and the standard EQ settings are absolutely sufficient to meet the most diverse films justice.
Even with the sound of various concert films I was on the whole quite satisfactory, although I would have liked much more sophisticated EQ settings here, because in some music films I could reach the desired transparency and brilliance is not easy. A little tip: In concert films that are included only in stereo, you should make sure, only the front speakers (including center and sub.) And nciht to the surround sound speakers, because the sound otherwise tend tends mE to mush.
Below: The cable from the speakers is just for my pretty small living room enough (especially if they are moved behind the bottom-strips along the walls), if necessary, so you have to plan an extension.
Overall, quite good for this price home theater system, the few quirks, however, can not be denied.
