In this camera, I had to wait a long time

As a complement to my digital SLR camera I was looking for a long-time "travel camera" with as very good image quality at "normal" conditions and large zoom and a possible compact and grippy handling. I was fully aware that the image quality of a DSLR can never to come close, but I did at least claim to be not put off in the price range 200-300 euros with noisy muddy images.
Have time to time one or the other digicam different manufacturers tried, but I was mostly disappointed by the image quality and had almost resigned myself to my 3 year old Canon to keep PowerShot IS110 forever as a travel camera, as newer and more expensive models with more megapixels compared were never appreciably better and often worse.
But now I've finally found what I was looking for. The Canon SX 260 really delivers brilliant image quality for a compact camera, very beautiful natural colors and pin sharp picture, no "pixel sludge" under normal conditions.
Whenever one extends the zoom, it is feared so, the image quality "breaks", that is not the case with this camera.
Provided sufficient daylight is still obtained even at maximum zoom beautiful pictures.
My test shots with lightning in the apartment went also extremely gratifying, far better than anything I had known previously in the compact class.
Use and processing are also positively highlighted, maybe it's because the Canon this camera "Made in Japan" produced and we again would like to offer more quality to win customers back? I do not know, but if it should be so, I would happy :-)
The display shines, I also like that you can 16 between all popular formats: 9, 3: 2 and 4: 3 can select easily.
The scene modes will I need not all, but unfortunately lacks the likes of me used program "sunset" - well, even the best camera can not do everything;)
Video and GPS I have not tested, I need both probably rarely.
In addition an important note:
Have the same Powrshot SX 240 tested, because this is supposed to exactly the same, only without GPS. Due to the price advantage it would then actually have been more suitable for me, but, strangely, the images were significantly better in the direct comparison of the SX 260! Perhaps only the tested by me SX 240 had a poorer quality, or perhaps Canon makes it also aware that I do not want to speculate further.
