My requirements for the new phone:
- A maximum of 4.7-inch display with 300 ppi
- Less than the Nexus 3, handy
- No glass back (goes anyway broken)
- Normal processor, not a high-end
- Good battery performance
- Android 5
- Well below 300 euros
This search started in late 2014. I also had some other models in mind (LG G2 Mini, LG L90, Z1 Compact, Huawei) But on each of these models did not bother me a bit.
And only with the Fair News then came the redemption in the form of LG Spirit 4G. So I have already ordered the phone March 19 at Amazon. Are, after all, a price guarantee.
And then came the Spirit LG 4G:
All my needs were met. Additionally was added the highlight that just like the Nexus 3 has a slightly curved display and is thereby securely really good in the hand.
That is the theory, now to practice:
The first 12 hours were already very revealing. Battery I can not say much in the short time.
+ Curved screen and rounded cell phone are very good in the hand
+ Battery cover is meticulously crafted and closes perfectly to the housing shell
+ Micro-SIM card slot and microSD card slot are available with the battery
+ Android 5 runs smoothly
+ LG-interface is tidy and well thought out
+ Various settings in the menu
+ Rear-Key can sensing good
+ Display resolution 1280x720 is completely sufficient and saves battery power
+ Handy and operated with one hand (height 133mm, width 66mm, depth 10 mm, flat on the edge)
o Display is a little further up in the housing (about 4 mm) compared to the Nexus 3
o Plastic Case sometimes a bit slippery
o Display looks much less robust than Gorilla Glass, possibly scratch-sensitive, appears later
- Possibly the camera quality, but I knew in advance
Now a little about the features:
Since there are no buttons on the front or on the edge, you can unlock the screen by double-tapping. But there are also other Unlock variants, all in menu. This only works with the LG launcher. With the Apex Launcher unlocking not work that way.
There is a maximum of 5 homescreens (LG-Launcher), which can be personalized.
The first 2 calls were good, both sides clearly visible, and the volume is also very loud adjustable.
My Car Phone (Octavia) connects via Bluetooth within 3-4 sec. With the LG Spirit.
The camera 8 MP photos, but they are only suitable for the gallery in the phone or Whatsapp. As a background image of a PC screen you can see the pictures do not use too pixelated and blurry.
My girlfriend has the Samsung Galaxy K zoom, because the images are worlds better, almost digital camera quality
Insofar as the first few hours with the phone, let's see how the first week. Then I will write something about the battery.
Conclusion:
For less than 200 euros a phone with Android 5 in compact size with enough power. Camera takes pictures unfortunately only in mobile phone quality.
Update 1 from 5:04:15:
+ The battery still shows 35%, so it should easy reach 2 days at normal use.
+ I'm starting to get used to the slightly slippery envelope.
+ The strongly rounded back can the court very well bear Spirit in your pocket without it applying too thick.
+ I have now re-installed an app for the LED light, works very well as an LED lamp.
- As LED camera flash LED light but almost unusable.
- The camera also produces great outdoors at Easter sunshine no good pictures, very noisy.
- On one side with mobile test reports I've read that a notification LED should be present. I can not confirm because nothing flashes. And in the settings I have found nothing yet.
