Pedometer, there are many, but the Walking style III from Omron is already a really great part. Why?
I have in recent weeks tried some systems which are intended to give an overview of my everyday life, or even when walking, how much I actually really run.
The Walking style III has want to take a lot of features and functions to the hereafter I (broken down to the 11 advertising messages) detail:

The main feature is undoubtedly the display / counting the steps, this is done via a 2 sensor technology that works really great and for example, not counting any stuttering while driving, as do some pedometer unfortunately.
The pedometer function at any check yourself by, for example 100-200 times steps going flattest possible route at normal speed while counting his steps. The first 4 seconds should wait because the device until 5 second really counts, unless one moves more than 4 seconds, then it counts the steps of the first 4 seconds. The point distance is already less easy to resolve, because as everyone makes different size steps, as well as the steps which one makes himself during the day, of course, not always the same length. Therefore, most pedometers take an average of about 0.75 meters per step as a measure of its distance measurement.
Who wants to set this value individually (and thus more accurate), the course can implement very simple one can select a possible straight and flat track, which you can then measure precisely. Ideally, via an online distance measurement. For this purpose are for example various hiking apps like [...] or programs like runtastic [...] where you can enter your own routes and measure very accurately.
If you have measured in this way its exact / planned route, it only divides nor measured meter by the number of steps and has his average stride length determined fairly accurately.
This value can then (and this is, as the entire setting of the Omron equipment, really very easy) to enter into the unit and already measures the part quite accurately the distance. Of course, with the assumption one would ever find these track conditions, but this is usually probably not the case. Basically you would have the device on a hike in the mountains, if you're sick or tired etc etc. always re-adjust, but that will want to make hardly anyone seriously permanently therefore yes the aforementioned average value of 0.75 m. Per step (where you nat itself. Due to its different routes also itself can determine an average value ..).
In this respect, the distance measurement with such a device will of course never be 100% accurate whoever wants (or needs) can not avoid a GPS-based system. Whether a GPS sports watch or above program (for example, runtastic does this by using a GPS-capable smartphones really exact) but a good GPS sports watch is really not cheap (we're talking about sometimes loosely 200-500 euros) and my Iphone (if No, even this purchase is very expensive!) was sucked empty in this use after 2 'hours and phone calls ect. therefore no longer possible ;-(
Then rather not 100% accurate as far as the real distance measurement, but as energy-saving and extremely inexpensive!
The values for the calories and fat consumption are nat at this unit. purely speculative and are based only on fictitious averages that can exactly agree never, but that should be obvious, right?

That is simply put, one can for each route / each period / each hiking trail one day, reauthorize its measurement, the values are but summed total of the day and then can be used for up to 7 days to retrieve retroactively separately.

easy to read and operate

The device is very small, but the numbers may be even for eyeglass wearers (like me) easily and accurately read and the operation is really a no-brainer. It is a very good explanatory user manual for leading a step by step through the initial set-up, which I think is basically also completely without this book, because it's really easy designed Keyword intuitive user interface!
Sorry if I now so clearly say, but who so is not clear, should look for the error really is not the manufacturer or the operating instructions when nearly 90% of users praising the ease of use, you should ask before even critical, why itself to is not in a position - and not complain about the device ....

That is and remains a domain of GPS measurements, but for a device of its kind that Omron has been working quite well!

Note the word fixing band - for me it was not in there and in the manual on page 37:
A lanyard is not included
.hatte I have slight doubts about the mental state of the creator of this manual. No tape supplied although supposedly to attend a band or not ...?
Explaining the Fa. Omron should nat. be a fastening tape there, but just not a lanyard - .na well; to know that now -)
Amazon had then kindly sent me a replacement, in which then the fastening tape was included, as has my Omron on my demand, which concerns the differences betw. The two bands, accommodating enough, get a replacement fastening strap leave now so I have 2 bands.
Who has not understood now (* grin *) Does not matter anyway, is the customer both on Amazon, as well as Omron very friendly and helpful!

(But not so suitable for walking / cycling) with battery operation (cheap / easy to obtain / no self-discharge) well to bring in a small dimension, which is below, with 3 years warranty, a competent and friendly customer support (normal landline number and not fraudulent 0180 , easy to put -5 number) and finally, therefore, serve a great motivation to run and more aware and all for the price of an average music CD from me a very strong buy recommendation and 5 star!
