Assessment
After 'The Fault in our Stars' I was naturally eager to buy me more books by John Green, because this book has me really excited. And so it happened to me with 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson'. The concept behind the book is very simple. Two guys with the same name meet and fate takes its course. Also have to say that the story has no unusual plot. There are everyday situations, at issue here. Although of course homosexuality or problems of young people are addressed, but they do not dominate the plot directly. I particularly liked the ease with which Green and Levithan have dealt with the gay characters in the story. When it became clear that Will # 2 is gay, told me that no more than a shrug elicited. Of course you have to say that I like to read fiction Gay. Only this time I was not really expected. The two authors make no big deal about it. Will's gay. So what?
Will Grayson # 1 is a somewhat strange guy. John Green has taken the perspective of this character and make it wonderful that simply by standing on Will's side and gives him in his thoughts and opinions right. At least until the views of the counterparty is disclosed and we noticed that Will but is not as infallible and every story has two sides. Anyone who knows John Green knows that he is one half of the 'vlogbrothers', a very successful YouTube channel. The you should definitely pursue; so you're always up to date, what greens concerns new book projects.
Will Grayson is # 2, as I said, depressed and David Levithan can curse the guy pretty around. Especially on the chapters that are written from the perspective of Will # 2, is that any dialogue in the style of a script written and generally prevails sensitive. In addition, Wills thought just to scream, which made checking back for embarrassing situations in public places for me.
The writing style of both authors is liquid and super read. You did not notice how fast you read and inside (apparently) no time you halfway across the book and just can not stop, because each chapter ends in an exciting location.
The cover of the book I like very well. The two 'Will Grayson' in the title overlap slightly and the background is red with some mirror effects. Although I do not find that the cover has a lot to do with the content, but it's still pretty.
Conclusion
Ingenious book that is full of laughs and wisdom. Five points and Amazing! (CK)
