I was surprised about the small receiver for the USB slot, as well as the rich for a mouse accessories in the box, the content here:
-Logitech Performance Mouse MX
-USB Receiver
-Micro USB (charging) cable (my N82 has also been recognized about the mouse can be charged with any microUSB cable !!! Genial!)
-AC To USB power adapter (if there is no free USB port is present)
-USB Extension cable (for the recipient)
-Small pocket for accessories
Driver CD
-Manual & Warranty Terms
-High Quality 1.2V AA battery from Sanyo
So in the package you will find everything to take the mouse into operation immediately. The fact I then also.
Optics / haptics:
The look and feel of the mouse looks very good and likes accordingly much. At the processing I can not expose actually, only the Shift key for the mouse wheel has a slightly poor pressure point. This applies also for the side buttons of the mouse wheel. In addition to the page keys the mouse wheel can also be pressed down yet. Logitech typical there is the two thumb buttons for back and forth. But with the thumb can be two other keys operate: Under the thumb buttons is still a button for the zoom. On a shelf for the thumb is still a Programmumschalttaste. A display for the battery charge level there's also.
The first operation:
After unpacking the connection was carried out on my Windows 7 laptop. That was easy:
In the mouse to remove the insulation protection already inserted battery and turn on the mouse at the bottom. Tuck Finally the receiver into an available USB port, Done!
Already without the mouse driver was available.
Because I wanted to use the extra keys, I have downloaded and installed from the Logitech website the latest SetPoint software down. The drivers on the CD are obsolete.
Impressions:
In the 2 weeks that I use the mouse now, I've learned the mouse already appreciate. Thanks to the switch for the mouse wheel can decide whether the mouse wheel as usual locks when turning or rotating freely. For large websites now no longer necessary to scroll, rotate once, and the page is scrolled elegant 'Genial! I do not want to miss the new scroll wheel !!! The steps can also be very nice to customize via the Setpoint software to their own needs, better it gets!
Despite the radio operation I feel in games like Counter-Strike no latency, outstanding! Contrary to the tests that I have read, I can get the mouse so recommend for gamers!
Unfortunately, however, I can not adjust the DPI of the laser as in the MX518 in the SetPoint software, although it is even even advertised on the Logitech website 'Too bad!
Nevertheless, the laser in direct comparison to the MX518 seems to be much more accurate, which is why I can live without that.
The Shift is very handy if you many programs / tasks has open. There are all open windows displayed by clicking the respective program you end up back where you want it, just great!
In everyday life, I catch Unfortunately quite often the zoom thumb button when I wanted to use the thumb buttons only forward or backward. The buttons are a bit too high, but with time you get used to more and more of it. Nevertheless, one would have the zoom button on and not to put under the thumb buttons, which would have been more pleasant. The mouse is also relatively heavy, for me still OK, but not severe may be a mouse in my opinion.
In the 2 weeks I had to use the mouse so far only 1x charge, where I worked every day at least 2 hours or longer with the mouse.
I am so far really thrilled with the mouse and do not regret buying the expensive mouse to date. Because of the smaller points of criticism I forgive 4 stars out of 5.
Despite the expensive price a strong buy recommendation!
