For installation / commissioning:
I am a technically gifted woman, but without technical training etc.
Installation and commissioning were carried out just like in the video / instructions described in principle. Based on the recommendation of my pros reviewers I have previously read the instruction manual once completely and can also friend so. After the installation and the installation was carried out without problems.
The control panel has recently been delivered with a screwed base plate. This is for example bolted anchors in the wall (but can also be glued). I opted for the dowels.
The control will then also screwed onto the disk, making it 1 fixed and 2 no longer to steal quite as fast.
For changing the battery the screws underslung solved and the batteries (not must) be replaced on the wall hanging from the bottom. One can the control panel but again lose weight, if you like.
I opted for the set with fingerprint and also bought an E-Key. The software I've tested.
Conclusion / Daily use:
1. the unit works perfectly and flawlessly. Fingerprints were 100% correctly identified and approved the entry or denied. If an incorrect operation by finger through my 8-year-old daughter (finger too quickly or not as scanned solid line), the unit has reported that the impression was not properly recognized and asked for repeated scan.
2. It was a strange feeling to leave after countless tests positive going for the first time the house without a key. But you get used to it and want it then ratzfatz not want to miss.
3. My 8-year-old daughter, who could not open the lock with a key because of its stiffness, can now own the house. In addition, they can laze by the fingerprint neither the key nor tell on the code among friends.
4. The management of the user's okay. It is advisable to make a note which user has which code. The panel will award so funny names like User0001, User0002 etc.
5. With the software you can create the user name. The manual of the software is electronic and is hiding somewhere in the software. I stumbled across it.
In addition, the guide is more linked to the higher-value software offerings. The 5500light is at most times "mitgemeint" or mentioned in passing.
6. The possibility of granting time frame meant for me that I can assign individual users one time authorization if necessary. For example, that a user receives only 8-16 clock access and is rejected then. This was a misperception. One can thus adjust the lock, for example so that it is at certain times as a "permanently open". This is a function that is probably most interesting for the company. It has given me but this "error" of some reviewers stated that there has probably also fail operated software. The software is so complicated and so so useless to the private user and that I have returned it.
7. Weather resistance: The control unit is according to manual are not subject to direct weathering.. While it is coated with a sensitive plastic film, but the fingerprint part must indeed be free. For me, the part is mounted in the door frame and the door is protected by a glass-top roof. Nevertheless, I have glued another plastic sheet over it, which is open at the bottom and the fingerprint sensor covers.
8. Furthermore, there is for me for this product a strong buy recommendation. Apparently Castle Guardian has eliminated the major sources of error. We have the door lock for a few weeks in use and are very happy with it.
Continuation:
even after several months of use, the battery of the control panel in the meantime just one quarter empty (still two-thirds full) lt. display. Even after a few months still smooth operation and still without error in the fingerprint sensor. I would buy this product again!
