Purple Rain (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After two years earlier thirst degenerated in America knew with "1999" Him then with "Purple Rain" in 1984 the whole world. The corresponding feature film and the fact that the album from August '84 to January '85 was continuously in America at # 1 then reaffirmed Prince status as dazzling pop star of the 80s next to Michael Jackson. Plus there is also still the man that no one-hit wonder 0815-pop singer is, but his songs composed umfassbar elegant and are arranged and bursting at the seams before emergency. Also "Purple Rain" is a fantastic album. Hard to believe that he could keep the level of "1999". It starts with the groovy rock 'n' Roller "Let's Go Crazy" with magnificent vigorous guitar solo at the end of the song. Also really atypical for a pop singer to bring the mid-80s as a soaring guitar solo in a song below. It follows the great pop piece "Take Me With U". "The Beautiful Ones" impresses with the fact that the song hochpuscht towards the end with his ausartendem to screaming vocals to an opulent rock ballad. Sensational. "Computer Blue" we get back Prince 'excellent guitar skills served until it finally turns into "Darling Nikki". A lascivious Poprocker and also equal to one of the best pieces of this disk. Then comes probably one of the best pop songs ever written: "When Doves Cry". Prince removed the bass track in search of new sounds. And he succeeded. Madness. Even the great pop of "I Would Die 4 U" or the second Rock 'n' Roller "Baby, I'm A Star" are wonderfully composed up to detail elaborate songs. And then the conclusion makes the title song. A rock ballad as they can not do better. The guitar solo towards the end is as legendary as the accompanying music video. SO has to sound pop. And so they could sound. If you otherwise Poplandschaft 1984 look at / listen we can all be happy that there are "Purple Rain" until today.
