IP Camera in very good quality and with many technical refinements

The camera made by Foscam has demanded a lot of tinkering to me, but that was mostly on my ignorance. I am a beginner in the field of IP-Cams, the Foscam is my second, which I use. The first cost only one-third, is therefore in a different price and quality levels.
The Foscam FI9831P has so much more possibilities then but quite a bit of energy demanded me to exhaust the camera somewhat.

The scope of supply:
- Camera in black mat, very resistant to fingerprints. Looks quality.
- AC adapter with 1 m cable length (unfortunately obscured neighboring socket, depending on the design of the strip)
- LAN cables
- WLAN antenna (this is also removable)

The camera has 11 IR LEDs plus sensor, a built-in Micro and speakers. At the rear LAN connector incl. Status LEDs, SD card slot, WPS button, and Audio are ups, in Out and Audio.

The installation is 8.1 System been a little difficult at on my windows, I have read with the supplied software IP Camera search tool the IP address and the port on the network, and have been using the Firefox browser directly accessing the web UI had the camera.
I got the configuration page, when I deposited the wireless data. After the LAN cable is disconnected again, and entered the new IP address of the wireless network in the browser. Delivery also.
However, I have missed the live image. That reminds me the UI was not known, I have not known where this would be actually found.

The UI is when the browser is equipped with the necessary plug-in, of three riders. But I had only one. I tried the plugin subsequently install that has not borne fruit.
Eventually, I then switched to IE, where I was asked if you want to install plug-in, confirmed this, and after installation I did not like in FF browser only one rider, but three (live image, configuration, Overview and recordings)
Now it could go.

On motion demands the camera responds with minimum delay of less than one second, the live image requires one more second, I find absolutely fine.

Then you can deal with the many possibilities of the camera. Some I would like to cite here:
DDNS you can set up a DDNS manufacturer from the I-Net access to the camera, I did that, however, means MyFRITZ.
UPnP is possible

Using FTP for data storage on NAS

Switch the IR-LED can be defined
Motion detection with many settings (sensitivity, time interval, message properties only image or video, 100 field matrix for the motion detection area, schedule)
As I said, this is only an excerpt of the many features.

Using smartphone, the camera can also be used, the Android app of Foscam recognize the camera, and delivers decent pictures. So I will only briefly tested me on occasion even more intensively dealing with, I have.

With a little more care in documenting some of the problems would have been spared me so and because a small SD card included should contain a star deduction.
