In my case, a USB flash drive should be connected to the internal abundant USB ports to boot from that operating system to run a NAS computer. Ultimately, it is a Linux system, so you could grab a Linux on a USB flash drive, saving a hard disk, for example, if no other SATA port is available.
My plan worked perfectly. The stick is now connected in the computer on this adapter. Booting from USB is itself supported by a 9-10 year old set mainboard.
The adapter itself is wertig, the connector does not get any tight or too loose, the stick could be plugged in as a very sensible normal USB connector (and resolve again if needed). This adapter, there is a version that can connect to 2 devices allows (DeLOCK - USB cable internal to external - 9 pin USB header). I have the nearly identical adapter with two connectors for practically the same purpose (NAS computers) also successfully used.
Evaluation was carried out: DeLOCK - USB cable internal to external - 4-pin USB 2.0 headers
