Cities XL 2012 would therefore be perfect if the performance impact would not. These losses make itself noticeable in major cities. Every now and then, the game had to fight every new picture literally. Mind you, noticeable on our PC, but not a showstopper.
Now we have learned from the version XXL and we were willing to buy the new version. This version is intended to show a better performance.
The game is installed and we want to deal only with the major points for us.
Is it worth upgrading from Cities XL 2012 Cities XXL?
The differences between the games are marginal. In short, they do not fall on. Here and there, there is a small feature (eg environmental issues) more, there is a building otherwise, the sky can be adjusted between storm and sunshine, and the cars stop no more in front of the motorway junctions, but it was roughly even. The gameplay is the same as Cities XL 2012 Design.
The performance has in fact made a little boost. We've built the fast track a city with 450,000 inhabitants and the display is still very fluid.
Are there any mods for Cities XXL?
There are hardworking available mods for Cities XXL currently. That's very nice and hereby our thanks to the developers. The well-known mods that have been knitted for Cities XL 2012 will, apparently adapted and provided for Cities XXL available. Would we find all the mods of Cities XL 2012 Cities in XXL, we would be very pleased.
Here in retrospect As a side note: Using the Internet account with Steam are offered modifications and installed on request. Unfortunately, it can not install any mod and is punishable by a program error, saying Cities XXL can no longer thereafter start.
Here's our advice: install and check only one modification. The program can no longer be an incompatible Mod call, then in the directory
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Cities XXL \ Paks \ mods \
This mod will simply be deleted. Then Cities XXL should be accessible again.
What we do not like and unfortunately 1 star deduction causes:
The game must be activated via a complex procedure. To this end, we had an account (of course with email, profile, etc.) activate on Steam, then carrying on a lively exchange with our PC. We confess that we absolutely do not like this prerequisite. We have installed just this game and have little interest in joining a community of players or to search for other games. We would wish to install the game as Cities XL 2012, register once and then detached from servers or companies enter the game. Gern licensors may now and then kindly asking for the legal version installed, but that it should have been then.
In summary:
Cities XL 2012 players who feel no loss of performance, status must not change necessarily Cities XXL today. There is also in the forums so many beautiful mods for Cities XL 2012 that work and enhance the game very much.
New starters in this clientele and those who favor a meaner picture change can certainly find pleasure in this game. It is compared to previous versions no retrogression. If the necessary account with Steam not be an obstacle, then the game is definitely a very nice pastime.
We awarded three stars because we have a little more "program" and expect not only a performance upgrade. Four stars would be there, if we had been newcomers in this simulation.
