30 Seconds to Mars This Is War (2009)

30 Seconds to Mars might actually rename debt in 30 million dollars. In this horrendous sum the unscrupulous label tried to sue the three boys. From this load a challenge called This Is War is Originated and has accordingly loaded much pathos on his shoulders.

Cheerful songs there somewhere. This makes it clear that bursting with tension Intro Escape. Mastermind and master Selbstinszenierer Jared Leto breathed a few cryptic words into the microphone, before an army of fans may yell a battle cry afterward. It proves the solidarity Echelon members really an enormous tribute, this may still sing most euphoric, hymns-like choruses. So the intro discharges even for the first highlight Night of the Hunter, where you would expect usual 30 Seconds to Mars fare, something electronic choreographed as on A Beautiful Lie, and provided with enormously intense vocal lines of Jared Leto and before power bursting, crashing drum parts. The lyrics seem to a bit harder than usual, but be careful with their intricate, expressionistic vocabulary well to the ambience.

That since power chord-charged anthems with strong melodies and even stronger hooks must not be missing on such albums, should be clear and so a song is delivered promptly with Kings and Queens and is expected to turn out to be singalong number No. 1.

A pause not treat yourself. It is directly further padded with the driving challenge This Is War. Since the guitars roar and Leto screams, but never verschleieren fortunately the beautiful melodies. It was produced just perfect. Acoustic guitar lines alternate with chords from, are sometimes less, sometimes more striking (Search and Destroy) effektiert and accompanied electronically and supportive Strings must not be missed. Speaking of electronic elements: These are sometimes used so strong that one could already speak the creepy, lyrically explicit Stranger in a Strange Land of Progressive Pop. The almost completely electronic ballad Hurricane also lives from this structured complexity, without leaving the original paths of 30 Seconds to Mars too much. That the band can be different, proves frontman Jared Leto in ingratiating, acoustic gem 100 Suns. Of course, with mandatory fan chants.

When album structure is to be noted that the hymns were all packed at the beginning, while the more complex, perhaps unkonformeren and sometimes not quite as pleasing pieces come to light in the rear part, interrupted only by the pop life affirmation Closer to the Edge. Some may want to depreciate in the latter pieces the Fanchöre, but after all, so Jared can get some rest before the beautiful ballad klaviergerprägten Alibi continues a little later at Vox Populi. Insanely empathically, lyrically highly poignant Jared sings soothes the souls of the listener before he, or rather his voice, discharges in a huge eruption.

Voted so positive you can endure even the last song L490, which consists of experiments of the older Leto-brother. Among other annoying here (well-intentioned, because by object vibration generated) penetrant high tone, while the song (once the album) is concluded with a deliberately acting to mystical monks' choir.

Conclusion: Hymns on hymns. In this album is true almost everything. If you like alternative rock or sing generally suitable melodies and thereby can do without too succinct guitar parts, it's no wonder.
