His first album on Tzadik had impressed many, and we must admit that this prog jazz uncompromising had everything going for him, Guillaume Perret is back on Open Me, of course always accompanied by his Epic Electric, jazz fans furiously electric appreciate. Moreover, it is hardly they will realize the absence of the guest of honor of the first album, the furious trumpet, cornet, Mederic Collignon vocalist who had yet brought his stone to the original brew of agitated Savoyard saxophonist. Because, always armed with his saxophone doped multi-purpose, always furiously at the intersection of free jazz, hard metal and progressive rock uncompromising, Perret continues to dig the groove first noticed a strong album had begun. No surprise, then, but a new big slap prog metal jazz that would bring Norwegian Shining or Teutonic concretes Panzerballett (two formations quite estimable incidentally) if our little Frenchie, cocoricotons a bit, had not a little extra something, an epic (rightly) quite extraordinary expertise and a more nuanced hair allowing him more easily to put the excess decibels of his furious fusion. So, without going into details so as not to deprive those waiting Open Me as the event it is, Guillaume Perret & The Electric Epic are back, fit, on a second album which, they say , soon to be followed by his Book of Angels to it. Say what you want but as an honor given to one of us, soon be in the flagship series of John Zorn, it warms my heart even if it is well deserved. Come on, just one regret, it really is too short your album, William!
