Customer Review

Film music history in its purest form, that is probably true to Star Wars. The work that John Williams began over 30 years ago, are now known almost any other person in this world. What began in 1977 continues to this day and the master himself will also supervise the ripe old age of over 80 years, the series in the coming years. The theme song is world famous but also many other issues have become classics of film music. John Williams was commissioned to compose the first part as a space opera of epic proportions. This desire he has fulfilled in a grandiose way and produced a work which is today known as a reference for sci-fi scoring.

Did he give off due to the based more on effects of action in the new Trillogie and problems the characters and places catchy themes, so he was able to draw in the older movies from the full. In the first track next to the famous Star Wars theme, a short fast 6 Ton Action motive is introduced on the trumpet which runs through the music. Princess Leia also gets a very sweet and loving theme on strings devoted to what already appears briefly in the first pieces. Although the famous Imperial March appear until the next part, also the Imperial musical references in the music.

The next pieces of the world Tatooine are very quirky held, but somehow also very amiable. Small sweet melodies and motifs serve as thematic ideas for this part of the action and are only with "The Hologram / Binary Sunset" again adult. In addition to excerpts from the Leia theme comes here for the first time the subject of Luke or of power into play. An incredible string melody, which is one of the most famous of the Saga. Williams plays with this subject and all other in a fascinating way, sometimes they come loud and straight therefore, only hinted again or mixed with the rest of the music. Time they are very different from playing as we know it and sometimes they are in direct contact with other subjects. The issue of power is the central element and is used again and again and makes very many variations.

Nice that is very entertaining Cantina band from Mos Espa has made an appearance on the album, completely different from the rest of the music, it sounds great and awakens many memories.

A long version of Leia's Theme opens the second part of the music. The next piece starts very subdued before Williams his action leaves off the leash. Although more than three decades old, still absolutely gorgeous. "The Death Star / The Stormtroopers" introduces another theme, which often is associated with military action and is often indicated only briefly. It is very similar to a Millitärmarsch and fits perfectly into the scenery. The following pieces are all across the board very well and make insane fun. Action elements mingle always with melodies and allusions to characters and have a very high quality.

"The Battle of Yavin" begins with a few passages in the play felt every Star Wars older times can be found. The piece takes a lot of time before it develops its full potential in the central part. Although very powerful, it is also filled with many incredibly fine and thematic accents and motifs. A great piece of music and to this day one of the best tracks from Star Wars as a whole. How many times in the Action sets Williams supported by strings and drums on all kinds of wind instruments and timpani.

Extra another issue was composed which is closely linked to the power issue, very heroic and heroically it performs the action at the end of the final scene. With the typical Star Wars melody the album is finished. On one CD is as a little bonus nor a 17:00 minute alternate version of different elements of the music.

Conclusion: What a grand opening. An incredibly good album and Williams in top form. The themes are to be linked earwigs for eternity and the way different elements of the music so I have heard in the form only in Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings - masterfully. If the music you listen well her age so she has lost none of its class.
