Features I particularly appreciate:
- The optical 50x zoom is just awesome.
- Instantaneous trip when you press the shutter button.
- Films like with a video camera
(I went skiing in addition to my children and have filmed. The films are not only sharp, but also fairly quiet.)
- Optical zoom when recording movies.
- Two different triggers for film and photos. So you have not only the function turn to fast times to shoot a short film.
- Sport mode with extremely fast image sequence, at least when it is bright enough for short exposure times.
- Long battery life even in freezing temperatures - at least for the new batteries.
- Even with the flash beautiful warm colors.
- Even without a flash in the dim candlelight Christmas time you can shoot sharp images with a steady hand.
- Robust handy design.
A few suggestions I have yet: (Possibly reads Canon yes with ... :-))
- Film format is MOV => At 2 minutes HD film about 500 MB of disk space. You have good movies so just convert before you can save them for eternity. Would be good if you as an option for "more compressed" films have, as I'm also with corresponding loss of quality ...
- A photo shoot while the camera is running is awesome. The film is, however, this is interrupted, the sound is running on, you get the picture incl. Sound and then a brief pause in the movie. If it is technically feasible uninterrupted movie I would prefer.
- Face detection is a nice gimmick, and the Focus the detected faces also preferred, but the recognized name should land somewhere in the EXIF data, or in the file name .... That would be awesome.
In summary: Just as good! Strong buy recommendation!
And a side note: I have the camera bag at Amazon
Mantona Sportsbag SLR Camera Case (sporty compact bag) for bridge cameras and Micro SLR
ordered. But that is much too large for the camera !!!
