For Mac users:
The drive is compatible with Mac! But I need you to format first. The carton is only Windows on it, but they can definitely also be used on Mac. It is important however that you first formatted in Disk Utility. Namely, it is formatted in the factory settings for Windows. But is not a problem to change that. Your first joining the plate with your Mac and then goes into the Disk Utility. There you select the volume "Toshiba EXT", and then goes up to the bar, where also "first aid" is set to "Delete". Then you need to confirm that you really want to delete it and simultaneously as a new target format "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" Select. Because the new hard drive is yes empty lasts all less than 2 minutes. Then the drive is ready for your Mac.
Note: If you want to use for backups or as a bootable clone, I would recommend you the program you Carbon Copy Cloner to pick up the costs uniquely 34 Euro plus VAT but you can not download then on all Macs in your household.. I find this program very easy and fast.
