So far I had always Earbuds as headphones. Looking for better sound, I looked around for larger headphones.
Important was a rich (but not excessive) bass and an otherwise balanced overall sound. Since I use the headset all day office, was also important that they are comfortable and they shield as closely as possible to the outside so that my colleagues are not disturbed. The design of the headphones was secondary but not completely unimportant.
I've tried several headphones "usual suspects" are trademarks of Dr Dre Beats (Solo, Mixr, studio) about SMS Audio and vicious to TDK. All sounded either not good enough, were uncomfortable in the long run, or were not in my opinion good value for money.
The Sony MDR-10RCB I'm really happy for the first time. The headphones fulfill all my wishes. The sound is exactly what I was looking for - I hear (in retrospect unsurprisingly) new nuances of my favorite pieces. Even at high volume, no sound penetrates to the outside. I like the design ebenfalsl, even if they clearly continue to stick out through the thick cushion the head as eg the Dr Dre Beats Solo.
I have only two small criticisms: first, sit the headphones quite loose (if I'm too strong bend forward, they slip off the head) on the other hand are the cushions but always something funny to the ear, so they are a little uncomfortable in the long run.
But the rest of the upholstery is probably a general problem with On-Ears and loose seat is dearer to me than the vice-pressure of Dr Beats Mixr. ;)
The two cables (one of them with a microphone but without volume control) are practical. Instead of carrying the bag more stable Case would have been nice of course, but that is bleating at a high level.
Bottom line, there are very good headphones with excellent sound for a more than fair price.
