My requirements prior to purchase were:
- Processing of both Pruning leaf and flower cut (ie soft and hard materials)
- Use of the chopped material both as mulch and for Kompositeren
- Reliable supply of spare parts (here: Replacement blades)
- Reasonable value for money
- Positive reviews & Reviews
Strayed from the rolling technique I am due to the fact that leaves and other soft material are not really broken. In addition, our land has no significant trees, so that thicker branches occur rarely as chaff. Although Bosch a max. Astquerschnitt of 4cm indicates, I think the equipment for such strengths - if only because of the lightweight construction - unfit. On top of the already often mentioned problem of knives wear out quickly in such material (especially dry).
Everything else in the garden section (branches with or without leaves to 2.5 cm, hedge clippings, weeds, flowers, even longer grass) pulls the machine using the plugger smoothly through and processed it into small shreds. If fresh material is chopped, the service life of the blade increases.
The handling of the device is not a problem, the volume is acceptable, the Messerwecsel takes a few minutes. Attach the grass bag available as accessories I have allowed myself, but is not worth the money: a matching tray, etc. for wearing underneath points just fine.
Before buying should therefore be given as to which material should by the chopper, for my requirement makes the 2200 (so far) good service, a star deduction because it deemed appropriate in my view, not for all areas. The price is, however, not (yet) "green" in the area.
12.3.12 Time for an update after almost a year using the machine:
The opportunity to review products, also offers producers partly a good overview of where real need for improvement: in this product - as is often noted - it is clearly the quality of the knife. The service life can be described as basically pathetic and it germinates in me the question as to how much intention behind it?
I suppose a full intention (I muse about certain salient tests that precede a market of such a product) to beautifully timely regularity to buy a new knife "animate" the customer.
In principle, this corresponds to the rules of fair competition and is a classic example of how to generate repeat business and guarantees.
As a paying customer generate for me, however, from these findings, the following questions and comments:
1. a company. As Bosch, the yes apparently not one of the cheap vendors and price breakers or are want (currently 240's nothing to sneeze at for a rotating knife in a plastic case), have it anyway so necessary, its customers a deliberately inferior constructed "consumable" vorzusetzen?
2. As a consumer, you should use forums such as this, to make other potential buyers in the forthcoming "misery" attention. I think it is simply annoying.
3. Perhaps it will help to formulate in mass discontent and as a "remedy" to enforce because it grab fewer people about this product? Sure wishful thinking, but also an attempt to let it endure not idle about.
As I said, the machine is good, as long as the blades are sharpened. For the policy of Bosch, however, conscious of offering inadequate wearing parts, I values from 2 star.
