A new, more compact, open headphones were needed. After some back and forth
I have two really good found:
Sennheiser PX 100-II and Koss Porta Pro:
Both headphones are quite compact and light. Makes the Sennheiser
an almost inconspicuous impression. The Porta Pro stands out through its
80s design eye (whether positive or negative now, with the appearance
by the small size discreet acts as in the photos).
Sound:
Despite its small size both headphones sound remarkable!
Both have a fairly strong, deep bass, mid and
Heights remain clear and are not drowned out by the bass. The Sennheiser
has a somewhat more pronounced bass, but somewhat weaker treble (S-sounds,
Basin). Both headphones are fun! The Porta Pro pleases me by
but the greater heights slightly better, both headphones sound very
similar - the difference is minimal.
Even compared to a large headphones to beat the two
"Small" quite bravely. I have both a Beyer Dynamics DT 990
PRO compared. Sure, the Beyer Dynamics is another class. The
Distance is but not nearly as big as I suspected!
Especially the powerful bass reproduction surprised. I should so
small headphones not have expected!
Protip: The position of the receiver on the ear has not a
significant influence on the sound. Especially the heights
loud or muffled come across when moving the handset to 1cm.
Comfort:
Both are comfortable to wear. Both are light and airy (no
Sweating). At Porta Pro has an additional cushion above the
Ear, and can be relatively to the pressure of the receiver in three stages
decrease. But even in the "hard" setting suppresses nothing.
Nor at Sennheiser. Both models are built open.
Ambient noise is hardly attenuated and outsiders can loud
Listen to music. This may, depending on the intended use and personal taste
But advantages also be a disadvantage.
Processing:
From the processing of my Sennheiser like better. The
Folding mechanism is thought out and makes a robust impression.
The headphones can be folded quite compact and in the cloth bag
be stowed. The Porta Pro on the other hand also folded yet
quite bulky. The supplied bag is almost too small. At Porta
Pro it can happen also that one is hair between the
Spring steel brackets einzwickt.
Disappointing: Koss KSC 75:
The headset is in two parts. The speakers are not a
Ironing connected, they are each with a strap - like temples -
to the respective ear lobe "hung". This works surprisingly
well. The lack of headband headphones are also very compact
stow.
But: The sound
I have read in various forums that the Koss KSC 75 allegedly
same driver as the Koss Porta Pro. That can not
agree! The Koss KSC 75 sounds simple bad. The centers are ok,
the bass is rather thin and the highs are missing almost completely.
Sibilance (language) and pool (drums) are barely perceptible. The
Money you can save. Wenns size matters, I would be
useful earbuds grab - which are even more compact, but sound
better.
ADDENDUM:
After further testing, I believe that I actually something to the KSC 75
have negatively. Sooo bad the sound is not - at least
better than most earphones. My unknown Sony headset and the
Cresyn earphones like me but still better, and at the Porta Pro
comes the KSC 75 ran under any circumstances.
Alternatives:
I have long used earphones, and also on the lookout for good sound
Tried dozens. Best I liked it a Sony headset
(Relatively strong bass; was the Xperia Mini Pro case, type unknown)
Cresyn MP or MP-RG280E RG270E (bass strong but relatively dull heights)
Sony MDR-ED12LP (Bass ok, fairly linear), and Sennheiser MX 500 (slightly
Bass, but otherwise fairly linear). Really pleased I was with but
none of them. All are in the bass range underwhelming, many have
somewhere "frequency holes" or sound tinny.
I have also tried in-ear earphones, (eg Creative EP 630 ECO)
the sound already significantly better than normal "earbud" -Ohrhörer,
provided that they are properly seated. I felt the pressure on the ears
but still unpleasant. Likewise, the strong shield against
Outside noise.
Pre-listening in the media market quite liked me have the
closed headphones AKG K518 (impressive bass!). Because of the
strong noise insulation and sweaty ears I have
but finally opted for headphones open frame.
