This is the second of this type headphones I buy. It turns out that the first same model but in blue, with the hoop jeans (stiffer and not comfortable at all, since too tight), is not compatible with my phone. And then the second ... either.
When I received my first helmet, Philips Citiscape Downtown SHL5605BL / 10 Blue Denim, I bought elsewhere than on Amazon, I discovered, too late, that it is not compatible with my Sony Ericsson phone. Here is what we find on these specifications, on the Philips website:
Compatible with: iPhone, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Samsung, Sony. An additional connector is needed for older models of Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung. [I should point out, since this information is nowhere that the connector is not delivered with the helmet.]
This information is not available on the websites of dealers. So at least you do looking great on the Philips website, you shall not know.
Well, it is still on the Philips website it says that the model that I just bought on Amazon, brown (Philips Citiscape Downtown SHL5605BK / 10), IS compatible with Sony Ericsson: [.. .]
To be more precise, they say it is compatible with iPhone, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Samsung, Sony Ericsson. (No mention of any need for additional connectors.)
And yet, to my surprise, the result is the same: neither one nor the other are recognized by my laptop, and only work if I maintain the key on the microphone (with tape).
I think it is time to display the standard used on helmets, making clear information about the compatible device type, and that's just an idea, give us the right information!
How come on the Philips site it says that it is compatible, without being I know. But in any case, on the Amazon site there is no information about it.
One thing is certain: never Philips headphones.
