"Lady Gaga is history"? Critics may continue to dream! A masterpiece of dance music!

With artpop the largest and most exciting Star brings our time fresh air to the music scene and mixes them again firmly on. Even their predecessors works (especially The Fame Monster) had an undeniable influence on the present mainstream pop. Lady Gaga brought Electronic Dance Music and traditional pop together and established with huge hits like Just Dance, Poker Face and Bad Romance as one of the first electronic pop music in the top of the charts and in the mainstream radio.

By his own testimony artpop should be "a celebration of electronic passion", and that hits the nail on the head. Artpop brings electronic pop / dance music to a new level, the music is an unprecedented blend of huge pop hooks and stunning electro beats and synth melodies.
Need to capture the totality of the work you have a certain preference for this modern style of music. Many people will artpop (like Gaga's previous albums) as Trash, pabulum or cheap Fairground Music designate because they do not understand the genre: Writing a good electronic song and produce is much more complex and demanding as a pop ballad that only by a piano or a guitar is accompanied.

The album comes in a beautiful presentation, the booklet, the plastic case and the CD are intricately designed and creatively. The cover created by Jeff Koons, the more comes across as a cheap collage on the screen, flowering in booklet in full glory on (lettering is modeled from shiny foil) and acts like a masterpiece. Here already collects Lady Gaga plenty pluses, because only very few artists give themselves in designing their physical albums so much trouble. But now to the real thing, the music!

Track by track review:

1. AURA 8/10
Aura is one of the most experimental song on the album. In the intro Gaga drives the trash-factor on the level, the verses are accompanied by slamming techno beats. It follows a heavenly chorus, the song owes its 8/10 points. A good start, which remains after listening to in the ear for a long time.

2. VENUS 8.5 / 10
Venus is a real highlight on artpop. An interesting mix of the Bowie-70s, modern synthesizers and sometimes very strange harmony sounds. The music is perfectly matched to the alien and divine subject (Venus as the goddess of love) of the piece. I can with the best will not ever having heard it something like Venus, the song reflects the innovative potential artpop's and playing with new arrangements again.

3. GUY 9/10
This song begins with the introduction of a female computer voice. The number keeps this dark, strange and brilliant tone, but convinces with a catchy chorus and gives a good impression as one of the numerous dance hits on the album from!

4. SEXXX DREAMS 10/10
A slightly darker and dirtier dance song with the best chorus on the entire album. Sexxx Dreams is my personal favorite track, full marks!

5. JEWELS N 'DRUGS (feat. TI, Too Short & Twista) 8/10
With this number, I had to get a little warm: a true hip-hop song that will not really fit on the album the first time playing. The next time you hear a tear the beat and rap parts but with and especially Gaga's chorus, which unfortunately occurs only in the second half of the song, the track round pleasant from!

6. MANICURE 9/10
A super glam-pop song with catchy guarantee!

7. WHAT DO U WANT (FEAT. R KELLY) 9/10
Do What U Want is a R & B song with flawless Dubstep beats. The verse of R & B veteran R. Kelly is well intentioned, but unfortunately pales next to Gaga who thrives vocally properly and with the refrain lands a real hit.

8. artpop 8/10
The title song of the record stands out from the other dance hits from on artpop. The verses and the chorus have something mystical and hypnotic. A great song that again, the diversity of the work to the test.

9. SWINE 7/10
The techno anthem Swine shines with verses that are very to listen to something for autotune and a rocking chorus, the one Electro-Breakdown follows, which will bring the dance floors of clubs to glow.

10. DONATELLA 10/10
Wow! A huge, unexpected dance hit and another, highlight the disk. In my opinion, single-worthy!

11. FASHION! 6/10
From this Lady Gaga / Will.I.Am collaboration I had more clearly expected more. A trivial text and Will.I.Am's wannabe French finally (what's this?) Make the song to a mediocre dance track. Only Gaga's voice that sounds in this piece much like Florence + The Machine, and the Piano Theme FASHION save !. Nevertheless, a little pity!

12. MARY JANE HOLLAND 8.5 / 10
Mary Jane Holland sounds clumsy told to, as if Gaga had a tryst on the mixing console in the studio and pressed with the right buttock too many buttons! The result may, however, be seen. A catchy electro-song, which is characterized precisely by the complexity of the effects and a forcing to dance.

13. DOPE 10/10
The big surprise on artpop! A heartbreaking piano ballad in the Gaga shows an emotional side and your smoky power voice unpacks. I was very touched dope, you realize that deep Gaga writes from her heart Each day, I cry / Oh, I feel so low from living high / ... I need your morethan Dope. Perhaps the most beautiful song that Miss Gaga has ever written. Wonderful!

14. GYPSY 9.5 / 10
Gypsy begins with a sad intro (again only Gaga with piano) and becoming the happiest song on artpop. The song alternates between quiet verses and a more power-tech Chorus (I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a Gypsy ...). A very special and beautiful dance song! Gaga is the end of the album again on the gas!

15. APPLAUSE 10/10
With the first single from artpop Lady Gaga could not go wrong! The verses listen to strange, well, to a rousing beat and an exploding chorus: ready is the perfect chart toppers and a great financial statements for the pop album of the year!

Artpop is a gigantic pop / dance album absolutely meet the high expectations. It offers what it should: dance music for the perfect club night and in addition it is diverse and varied!

Whether one likes it or not she and her music, Lady Gaga is one of the few remaining musicians in the pop scene, who write all the songs himself and produce. Her musical talent and vocal performances are convincing (who never heard Gaga live at the piano, who has missed something). Your work, be it a live show, a photo shoot, music video, or outfit of course their music, always has a deeper meaning and an artistic aspect, even if this is not obvious to everyone.
With all this Lady Gaga jumps out of the context of the 0815-pop singers, in its critics wish they stuck repeatedly. She is currently the largest and best pop star, we have and hopefully it will remain with us for a long time so. For me at least, it is now already a legend in music history.
