"Controversy" from 1981 is already 4tes Prince album. And here he mixes his incomparable sound of pop, rock, funk and soul. It starts furiously with the title track. A 7-minute radio operator has it all and already alone justifies buying this record. For the first time true Prince also critical voices. And in the middle of the song, it integrates then the "Our Father". Unbelievable and ingenious. Other highlights include the ballad "Do Me, Baby" and the song "Private Joy" where for the first time later for Prince characteristic Linn LM-1 drum computer is used. Then, of course, "Let's Work" with its partly geslappten great bassline. The rest of the songs are not disappointed, but does not keep all the levels. A year later, he finally succeeded in the great attempt. 4 stars for "Controversy"
