Lenny's 2nd album with tons of bonus tracks

Mama Said is the second album by Lenny Kravitz and dates back to 1991. Musically, however, does not sound after the disk. That's all retro rock or retro soul and sounds like in the late 60s and early 70s, the models include Curtis Mayfield, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
The best in my opinion 4 songs are immediately positioned at the beginning of the disk. Fields Of Joy begins hippy psychedelic and then has a rocking midsection in Led Zeppelin style. Always On The Run is a funky rock hit with Slash on guitar. Then comes the piano ballad Stand By My Woman (Lenny to marriage, it was then badly). The biggest hit of the album was but It Is not Over 'Til It's Over with its strings and falsetto vocals.
The rest of the plate is then rather mixed. I like yet More Than Anything In This World, the rocking Stop Draggin 'Around with its retro stereo production as in the 60s (Drums only one box) and ... What The Are We Saying.
To me Mama Said remains after 5 his best album.

The Anniversary Edition offers the neat remastered album still massive bonus material. On CD 1, there are 2 B-sides and an instrumental of Always On The Run. For this CD contains 1 nor 2 then unreleased remixes from It Is not Over 'Til It's Over.
On CD 2, there are 8 demo versions and 8 live tracks. The 5 live tracks from bring Rotterdam The concert atmosphere over better than the 3 live tracks from Japan, which sound better though, but where is hard to hear the audience.
In total, there are nearly 140 minutes of music to the ears. For a couple of live tracks possibly would have been enough space.

The two CDs are arranged in a folding cardboard cover. Inside are displayed many memorabilia from the period. Plus, there's a personal foreword by Lenny. The booklet contains the lyrics, the former Press Release info from the record company and Reissue Producer's Notes. Unfortunately, there is no other liner notes.

Conclusion:
This is a completely successful reissue of this album. Much to complain about there is not actually. The price of Amazon in the "3 CDs for a total of 15 Euro" campaign was also sensational. So I can only give the full number of stars.
