Customer Review

I purchased this laptop at another German distributor for 249 and must say: "I'm thrilled." Finally, for heaven's sake FINALLY "trust" is a manufacturer times herrauszubringen a clever notebook, which is based on Android. And at the price. Currently it is difficult to find something like this. 10-inch tablet with quad-core processor and with German Tastaturdock, you pay more if you want to have something named exemplary. Class I'm happy ... :)

So then what are the alternatives? Android Notebook? Most 7 inch model with very old technology via Ebay directly from the country of Pandabärs. Chromebook? Ansich good, but no touchscreen, too expensive and an operating system that now is not just great encouragement. Windows 8 RT? Since it has indeed NEN touchscreen, but here are the price and the operating system of the crux. I could now cite Windows 8 Pro and the device with the "use fruit", but playing in a price range, in which I would never advance for such a device ...

I wanted an ARM / Android based device, with good equipment at a fair price. I have found it --- the Lenovo Ideapad A10

Optics / haptics --- 4/5 stars

Small, light, silent and chic. So you can summarize the Ideapad. There ausszusetzen almost nothing.
Touchscreen, Touchpad and Keyboard on working properly. It should be noted that the touchpad does not have mouse buttons, pressing the touchpad virtually down to or a tip on the screen to generate a mouse click. The Tastaur has special keys for Android, such as the home button, settings or the Appmenü, class. The design is valuable and the "outer skin" is dull or rough and thus resistant to fingerprints. That's how it should be.
A "bitter" pill but you have to swallow. Something just Lenovo could have prevented. Stick word "Yoga". One can not fold like the Lenovo Yoga touchscreen extent that you have a tablet. I find personally very poor, but is something that I have taken into account due to lack of alternatives. There is only one "notebook mode" and let's call it "Presentation Mode", you turn here the body of the notebook 180 ° so that it now rests on the keyboard quasi. Look for movies and gaming is not bad, but I wanted more ... :) Bring to the device in this mode is (obviously) the keyboard switches off and it appears the screen keyboard as needed. This works perfectly, no matter what you write or keyboard just using straight.

Touchscreen --- 4/5 stars

The Ideapad the screen can be described as good. The resolution is okay, he responded promptly and reliably and can tilt it very strongly and thus adapt well described above. Only the
Brightness is a bit boring. Also in any way bad, just it would here like a couple of lumens can be more.

Power --- 5/5 stars

That's the point of having worries me. 250 Euro? Rockchip processor? "Only" 1GB RAM? I was pleasantly surprised. The performance of the Ideapad is slightly above a Samsung Galaxy S3 and even lets the Ouya with a Tegra 3 behind ...

Antutu Benchmark --- --- --- --- Ideapad S3 --- --- --- Ouya

Although I must say here that these values were measured without "external" MicroSD. With an additional MicroSD is the value at Sto. I / O fell by 500 points to 843, while I can not say whether this is due to the SD card or the card reader. All values are reproducible with further runs, so soft only to max. +/- 20 points on the result above.
In short, the value for the money but bomb. So Rockchip is quite usable ^^. Jehnseits of Antutu I've tried only emulators and can say that this extent are going very well here. We tested here SNES9x EX + (Super Nintendo), ePSXe (Play Station 1) and Mupen64 (Nintendo 64). And just the latter running to my surprise smoothly without artifacts ... Absolut top.

Connections --- 5/5 stars

The IdeaPad has 3 USB ports (the microUSB port is only intended for charging the unit)
a microHDMI port, a port for headphones and a slot for a microSD card. Now does not sound so great, but for Android conditions that's awesome. Especially the two USB ports right really fun because they OTG, so both (!) Mass storage compatible. So it is no problem to connect two USB sticks and copy of no. 1 to no. 2. Sounds like I said cheap to, for Android devices but this is a revolution ^^.
Also function as mice, keyboards and game pads. Yes, I was able to my PS3 controller via USB to connect directly and without using mosquitoes. A Dual Controller Adapter for PS2 Controller allowed to join and again no problems. Both gamepads work fine. At least with at SNES9x and Mupen64. In ePSXe both controllers are recognized as one. That's a problem here but the emulator. Also I've tried (something ZTE) to shoot a UMTS stick of 1und1. Although he läuchtet but further nothing happens. There is also no cellular settings or the like. One must say that even with the gamepad no "De-Ding" à la Windows rang and they work but here. Surely only a question of the right app. According WWW it is to use sticks with Android definitely possible to be certain UMTS.
All in all, top, just top, when I consider what kind of bickering with other androids I had to get the same functionality. Here everything goes virtually out of the box. Excellent.

Battery --- 4/5 stars

The battery life is okay. Grob can I say that over 15% battery capacity are needed per hour in office mode, so the device by holding well here 6-7 hours. In games I would tap on good 20-30% per hour, so still 3-4 hours and films fall somewhere in between ... Overall okay, would be here with a purely structurally more in it. For example, a larger battery or two batteries a la Asus Transformer Pad, one under the keyboard and behind the screen. Too bad, but top for this price.

Tools

In addition, it should be mentioned that Lenovo Ideapad the A10 spendiert own taskbar. Good: It can be switched between running apps directly back and forth and they can also be (really) be terminated. Bad: This bar can not hide itself. So you have blocked a certain part of the 10-inch viewing area when eg games. Upgradeable Definitely.
Also, the device has no root way, so that here go west a lot of interesting features. Lenovo provides but on its website the "Open_Source_Code" for A10 ready, so it's just a matter of time accept to XDA and Co this thing.

Conclusion --- 4.5 / 5 stars

The Ideapad A10 is a step in the right direction. It was many things right and most errors can be via Software Update or later vllt. CustomRom eliminate. Then why not "Yay all great!" ? Well I for one would like to see more easily. Other manufacturers and in some cases even show that Lenovo is more. Certainly not at this price, and I would here like to pay a few hundred euros more if just more of everything would be there. Thus, to be hoped that this device launch in a new kind of multimedia netbooks. As I said that it is the first of its kind, the Ideapad A10 is a top device. In the next generation just like to:

--- Flexibility à la Yoga
--- More brightness and higher resolution
--- Bigger screen
--- Generally more power, keyword Cortex-A15
--- Larger or two batteries a la Asus Transformerpad
--- A hard drive (Seagate has introduced an arbitrarily for tablets)
--- LTE module
--- Like when more connections still room :)

... I would also like to pay 700+ euros for such a device, since the ARM technology simply makes more sense to me than any middle class notebooks with x86 architecture.

Edit 10/27/13:

A Dual Controller Adapter for N64 controller works without any restrictions. This is something I've never seen on Androidbasis. All "out of the box". Without additional apps, special settings or other gimmicks. Since I had to wipe one tear me glad :)
... And the ultimate test. Mario Kart 64 ... 2x PS2 Controller vs 2x N64 controller. It rocks like hell. Nothing jerky, laggy or anything else.
Since the Ideapad beesitzt A10 a microHDMI port so you can revive beamer or flat screen TV the old days. And somewhere in the settings I have read a bit of "Wireless Image Transfer" ... :)

Edit 03:11:13:

+++ Battery life could be enhanced with a "Energy Saving Ideas"
+++ NDS Emulator Drastic has a great performence and runs almost flawlessly
ooo Leistungstechnisch joins the A10 at the PSP emulator PPSSPP its limits
--- Device has 2x launched completely new sporalisch
--- The charging speed via microUSB is too slow, while gambling the A10 keeps geradeso the battery capacity, so it will be discharged more quickly as charged -> that's definitely better

Edit 01:02:14:

+++ Thanks Kingo Root and Universal ADB drivers I could A10 rooten and so can the app Full! Screen the annoying taskbar hide or display

Edit 18:02:14:

+++ Even a 64GB microSDXC is detected and can be used
+++ Amazon lowers the price to 200 and therefore the price / performance ratio is unbeatable :)
