It will surprise you, but in my estimation and in this review I will not go into this sort transmit criticism, as I leave the Smart TV functions completely sidelined.
Rather, I evaluate only the "core competencies" of Fernsehersm: haptics, the image quality and overall handling.
Look & Feel

Starting with the haptic one is already unpacking notes that the framework is not particularly adapted to clean the panel: In particular, at the corners you can see this frightening precisely because there are gaps very large.

The entire menu is slowly - very slowly - and even slower.

This is so not fun and leads to frustration, because you do not know in part if the TV has received a signal or not.
The image, the image and only the image

However, the pinnacle of each TV is the image quality and this I have tested with Blu-Ray and digital cable TV.
The 650V like Blu-Ray, so native HD material - so it is really nicely drawn and also offers a really great sharpness of movement. Colors are well reproduced, provided one includes "black" from the range of colors.
The IPS panel of the LG does not like black and can also no black.
I had to have the opportunity at home in a direct comparison with a Samsung VA panel and a Panasonic plasma run to LG parallel and in direct comparison to the weaknesses of the LG made it clear (st) noticeable:
The black is definitely not a black - a shame, but it fits the rest. Especially with the viewing angles, the LG IPS panel is clearly superior to a VA panel!
What one sees in turn even in direct comparison, is that the movements of the LG are not going quite fluid, as was the case with the other devices. What makes me suspect that we have here to do a native 50Hz - LG expresses this not officially ...
All in all, the LG Blu-Ray at his job really well and completely convincing - who complains here, looking for defects that do not exist.
Unfortunately, really likes unfortunately the LG non-HD signal not so much. The extrapolation seems not to be the greatest strength of the LG. While native HD material ganu are well represented on example arte or ARD & ZDF, other TV channels or programs are not as nice dissolved and act mushy.
The color display of the LG is somehow "unique", one can hardly describe, but put on the colors look. It is particularly noticed with the "red" in. When I had looked at a game cut from Bayer Leverkusen for example, in the sports show, I wondered about the Bordaux stitch the shirts - here are the jerseys in natura bright red. That was not to fix with settings, the color red could not be set correctly.
Subchapter Football

When it comes to football of course you can not get around to question as banding / DSE and motion sharpness.
Here I stand by my statement above: I do not think that has 650V built a native 100Hz Panel - Watching football has made an effort, because I am also from my plasma (Pansonic 55VT60) maybe a bit too spoiled.
Amazingly positive is my judgment with respect Banding / DSE of: here was me - unless you explicitly paying attention - noticed nothing negative in my model.
In Chapter non HD material performance of LG is therefore in sum rather below average, but perhaps appropriate in this price range - but I personally still too little.
Panel lighting

As a separte section must at this point also the illumination of 650V will be discussed, because here LG has been awarded new ways: Instead of relying on the Edge-LED lighting, to build this year on the Direct-LED or Direct-Lit-called technology. Here, the LEDs are not installed on the frame but placed directly behind the panel.
Unfortunately, this technique is likely to push a solution to the cost to generate as a real added value - because what is in theory very useful sounds denied in practice completely. Because you can not do a: equate Direct LED with Full-LED! Although the principle is the same but the implementation of a completely different.
Because with the LG solution has arranged simply far too few LED behind the panel, even illumination in vain - especially the four corners remain almost completely unlit.

I want to be objective and fairly neutral, but it's hard for me to write about the Clouding properties of my model without losing its neutrality.
Sometimes I wonder whether the manufacturer if cost pressures no longer perform the last check or that the devices are so poorly constructed that the Panel so sensitive to transportation and thereby possibly warping or ähnlcihes.
Neutral and to the point: My model was illuminated not gelichmäßig, there were points (a very particular) the even light were lit (although this is for example, a 21 :) Filmbaklen ...)
Qualitatively therefore unfortunately lowest category - I would not expect!
Conclusion:

All in all, the LG 55LB650V a relatively cheap TV with plenty of features and 3D functionality, there are even two pairs of glasses included!
However, it provides in relevant everyday situations serious shortcomings: a "normal" TV signal is distorted and reproduced little contoured. The processor is overburdened with the menu and the Direct LED lighting is purely a cost-saving measure that has the Edge LED deutlichst inferior and in any capacity can record a plus for themselves!
HD material but like the LG and convinces even, or offers here what you can expect from a television in the years 2014/2015.
This model demonstrates the limitations of the LED LCD technology and what passier when one in and of itself "is not quality" erstzt Edge lighting by even "cheaper" technology.
Who not necessarily the emergency has to buy now a large and cheap TV that should make a bow to this model - at some point the OLED television will slip into "normal" price regions and then there is finally a true black on the screen and we will laugh about the lighting problems of today's LED-LCD generation only ...
