I use the Tamron 24-70mm F / 2.8 as "Always top" for news photography on a Nikon D700. The picture line is very good. For me, the image stabilization is important because I situational photograph in low light without a tripod almost exclusively. Another plus point is the sealing against dust and water splashes.
