The friction coefficient of the molybdenum disulfide is the smallest reached to dto value 0.069.
The viscosity at + 100C: 14.4 mm2 / s (DIN 51562) is above average.
Then I wrote to the technical service of Liquid Molly and asked for their advice on an oil for this '81 6-cylinder boxer engine. The answer came within a few days by a technician from the lab to the development department and confirmed my assumption with a specific recommendation for this MoS2.
I then then this oil against the "fierce resistance" the chief mechanic my workshop and many negative comments from self-styled oil professionals fill the upcoming oil change can (this boxer engine requires 11 liters of oil for a change).
No one wanted and wants to believe it, but I had then immediately get the impression that the engine sounded much quieter and seemed spontaneous. The sound from the exhaust was definitely sonorous with this oil.
But as I said, subjective, and I was ridiculed already a lot because of these statements.
Based on these positive experiences I have changed also a 3-liter four-cylinder inline engine of a young timer on this MoS2. Mileage is here approximately 3000 km pa
This engine is known for its brute force and its vibration (!!)
After I changed to the MoS2, I found only immediate positive changes here. This 3-liter 4-cylinder now runs definitely quieter and causes less vibration. Especially in the upper speed range. Again, I immediately had the impression that the engine noise itself was changing positively. Quiet, sonorous flat.
The fact is that both engines until now run properly and the smoothness to dto did not change.
Reduced oil consumption, I could not tell. Is everything in the "standard".
Also with respect to the petrol consumption I can not notice any reduction by the MoS2 oil. However Ride only the 98 octane in these engines, and this alone has a beneficial effect on the consumption.
Finally, I now for two years driving also my everyday car with a 3-liter diesel from the Volkswagen Group with a Liquid Moly product, - the Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 Engine Oil 5W-30th
Conclusion: Ernst Prost (Managing Partner and Founder of Liquid Molly) is a former mechanic, a pioneer in lubricants. A German company in Ulm manufactures excellent products and this "Inexpensive" marketed.
For me a very clear recommendation!
