The flute, and other instruments of its kind, is a solo instrument that can only surprise in a concerto with orchestra. It is a light voice, often very acute and dancing in the clouds as the orchestra, even the strings sometimes remained on the ground, taken by the soil. This gives these flutes and flutiaux strength and force unheard even though they can not show the magnitude and the virtuosity of a violin for example, and later the piano.
Vivaldi uses it to make it an unrivaled advantage. The flute can thus égrainer the urge mild or abrupt melodic lines but still clear and well defined, note for note, rising or falling. Everything is then in the light of these sounds and the rhythm of the attack even more than the sounds themselves and there Vivaldi will use the playfulness of his religious students to further refine the paste of this music and make it as mild as angel hair or unleavened bread.
Make no mistake about it still uses Vivaldi soloists in this way. The violin notes allows strafing that can jump from one or two octaves if necessary. The voice of a viola is a disproportionate voice nor in men, too high, or in women, too male (except that understands nothing of these things), and it is from this that he plays. And the orchestra is not there to shine, the band is here to shine with its own light. Over the orchestra is brilliant beauty and restraint over the instrument or solo voice are brilliant beauty and vital exuberance.
Finally, the last thing to say is that Vivaldi was a contemplative in the world, of nature, of men and animals, and he knew perfectly capture their rhythms, their tone, their rates, their species and each be a more hidden species, in addition to its public essence emphasized. The solo instrument usually gives the visually visible gasoline and the orchestra gives all the hidden harmonics of this species and thus reconstructed the endless myriad of every being and every moment of life.
This is a wonderful time of music and it goes without saying that the performers on this CD are up, up to much of this music and are able to raise to the highest levels of the vault Heavenly. I regret one thing, that this set Matheus is not registered under the arch of the Abbey of God's chair where I have so often heard. While the sound of a church, but a simple church, does not give the air depth La Chaise Dieu gives angels who come to play in his choir. Here we have more of angels descended to earth to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus in a stable. How I would have preferred the angels singing the Ascension to heaven. But only one regret giving me a sob? Let's say Jean-Christophe Spinosi console me with the warmth of a heart of musicen, that says it all.
