My Car: Mazda 3 Sport 1.6 BK, 2004'er
Radio: Radio series without BOSE system (... would indeed be otherwise nonsense ne?)
Purpose: bass extension to new 2-way system (medium / high)
I'd better start something earlier on, as often times not as much is written, which I think is a shame. Because you should already enumerate and explain the advantages and disadvantages of this subwoofer. So, who like me is looking only for a way to lower the range of 50-120Hz to expand something is so well served. Certainly you do not reach any effect that the trunk wiggles or extremely bangs. This should be a preliminary point, otherwise you will end up a total bad buy. But I must admit, despite the small subwoofer it makes powerful "WUMS"!
When the package arrived and I unpacked it I was once very skeptical. But after he was finally installed and connected (equal to more ...) he has convinced me very quickly otherwise. I have also long busy to test different settings on the radio and subwoofer to achieve the best result. Is certainly a matter of taste as regards the "pressure", how hard or soft you wants to have, but you can here set individually with the included remote control. Even if I wanted to dispense with a remote control - I like it! So you can adjust different song by song, which manifests itself as distinct from pop to techno (or similar) but positively very noticeable.
+++ "WHAT YOU GET, WHAT YOU NEED" +++
The guide is not just the marvel, but that does not need one (s) anyway.
On the cable, everything is again described to 3 languages, where what comes out.
Important here: It does not take high / low adapter NO Remote Adapter and also no additional cables. The subwoofer has a plug forming a wiring harness. From this connector then go all need from cables that you need for connection. A continuous current (12V with 10A fuse), an earth cable, a remote cable (0.5A fuse) and an RCA cable (Female) to connect the speaker / radio. You can save the money for adapters or additional cables So, unless you just want to lay on a bus from front to back the woofer! ;-) And then, of course, also an extra cable with plugs for the remote control - with a very long cable. I think the cable is long enough that I could put it right across my Mazda 3 and back, madness. Also is yet another adapter RCA Male to ??? in, so speakers can be connected. (Did I needed ...)
+++ +++ INSTALLATION
As noted, all outgoing cables of the plug on the subwoofer are described exactly where what reach. They were following me - and I think that will be so everywhere: A yellow, fairly long cable with a 10A fuse, which is connected to the continuous current. I've laid for me at the door bar along forward and then connect the radio to the continuous current. Since the subwoofer not too much sucks like a proper stage with another speaker / subwoofer should be enough thick. And even if not, is there still the 10A fuse. The remote cable (blue) I clamped on ignition plus the cigarette lighter, since I had no other way to my series radio. And there already depends on my dashcam cigarette lighter, because I had the best opportunity because I had previously anyway routed cable for it. Under normal radios that goes naturally different, so I can not judge. For the mass-cable (black) I quickly found the right B-pillar a suitable place.
+++ To speaker ++
(Only interesting if you like me anklemmt him on speaker / high-level ...)
Since I could not drive through RCA subwoofer and subwoofer yes thankfully has a high-level input, I had each disconnect the left and right channels of the front speakers to then / go with the signal left right in the subwoofer , At first I had, because I had to work after the long "fumbling" really sorry, just a bridged mono output on stereo input on the subwoofer. But that came to me directly some "weak" before, so I did it then but to stereo reconnected that I have 2 channels. Is it possible to make mono-stereo, but you should not. Here's an example of how I did it:
Stereo:
Front left speaker + Subwoofer RCA left +
Front speaker left - Subwoofer RCA left - (mass)
Front right speaker + subwoofer RCA to right +
Front right speaker - Subwoofer RCA right - (mass)
Mono:
Speakers (any) Left / Right + Subwoofer Chich left + right +
Speakers (any) left / right - to subwoofer Chich left + right - (mass)
+++ +++ CONCLUSION
That's basically already. I have installed the subwoofer under the front passenger seat, because I like to do without the light massage! ;-) And despite that is not positioned directly beneath me, nor is enough "WUMS" with me. It sounds just great on. As I said, who thus want to "spice up" the depth range is something so perfectly (!) Operated. I've had enough power perfectly and with my Serial Radio (~ 35 watts) I manage not to get the subwoofer to its limits, so perfect. I recommend at this point, etc. to refrain settings of bass extensions on the radio and all that prefer to set the subwoofer remote control. I could at least order to achieve a clearer result.
Who likes it a bit harder and stronger, should look at the "big brother", the Pioneer TS-WX710A. He pretty much has the same features, only a lot richer and heavier, making thus significantly more "WUMS"! This would have been my personal alternative, this would not have been enough for me. Even the big brother is brought slightly by months on the back walls of the rear seats slightly, provided you have the space for it.
So, in brief summary:
+ Price / performance TOP
+ Good description of the cable, also for "amateur" like me (laughs)
+ Small but mighty power, tidy "WUMS"
+ Package includes all required cables ink. Fuses and adapter
+ Thanks to its small dimensions very well be placed under the seat
+ Remote control for volume and intensity
+ Mounting accessories included
Personally, I can only praise the small all the way up!
Not prejudice, test yourself! You should give him a chance at least.
Especially if you have limited space or just want to spice up the lower part of something.
Let's see how long I'll have my pleasure! :-)
And I hope my review will help one or the other.
