The R700 is qualitatively similar to its predecessor, R800. Therefore praise at this point. Familiar, robust quality. What I could not understand is the change from the green to the red pointer wavelength. Green was (in my opinion) beat the R800. Why Logitech has switched to red with the R700 again, me remains a mystery. Too bad, because the R800 is no longer available (since discontinued model) - at least not justified at a price.
