Long-term experience (since D-Release)

I have the Surface Pro the first generation since the release in Germany operating and would like to give a couple of long-term experience the best that were mostly very positive.

Use as a calculator:
It's still great to have sometimes x86 programs to run on the tablet, for example. I Catia installed (a 3D CAD program) to be able to initially open only to files and watch, but it is quite possible to carry out, to my surprise also edits if one has a mouse connected best in conjunction with a 3D controller.
One has then an LCD connected, it can still serve as part of its computing power as a desktop replacement, of course always depends on what you expect from a desktop, you will encounter there already quickly reach the limits of performance especially the graphics card. As my claims are also quite high.
Office or image editing with Photoshop or Gimp where you like to have a lot of screen space to go but without limitations, resolution can be Windows typically easy to adapt here. Since I still have a reasonable desktop but for me that was only supplement, not decisive. I was much more important that one per level with the tablet has the home network with Win 8 absolute control over his wireless network, watch full access to all computers in the network, etc., and you can still go really open to each file at least, and with the appropriate program also can edit, that's just a completely different league than the classic consumer tablets in the mold of iPad or Galaxy Tab. I once installed a few x86 Games also for fun at times to watch "what's so going" should be clear that I have since taken of shooters in the style of Battlefield or CoD times distance, but civilization (with touch support, super! ) went well, Monkey Iceland, Kerbal Space program .... etc. It's really what got me but admittedly partly surprised.

Use as a Tablet:
The stark contrast is of course the classic couch-surfing, convinces the device with great display, good liquid handling and extremely rapid access times. Especially the display is absolutely convincing, even outdoors in direct sunlight is still very good, and then when you buy at least 2 classes better than the competition. This has caught up considerably, yet the Surface display still belongs to the superclass. The response to touch inputs is absolutely top, created in conjunction with the high computing power while browsing, "play around" and also while working just a liquid feel, just as you would imagine.
To pin operation I can not comment qualifies me, so initially have played around a bit, but rarely used in the end, had left him too often at home. But generally works well at first impression.
Disadvantages here are the still high weight and battery performance in 4-5h area. Find both personally still OK, but objectively criticize thoroughly. For the battery power should also be noted that rapidly charges the battery at least, in my area of ​​the often criticized heat generation is also comprehensible for me as a point of criticism, it is also quite warm, but for me still in the frame. Since a lot of subjective feelings may play a role, so is also a point of contention which I can understand.

Crashes / trailer etc .:
I'm doing with the device of streaming media on the Smart TV (wireless) or the stereo system (via BT) about surfing to photo editing, office applications and network configuration simply everything and it never left me hanging. Crashes come almost never before, had, mostly shot Prolonged exposure since buying to the 4-5 from any x86 programs, I can not even remember properly tuned, so to neglect full. The Surface really deserves at this point per high praise. Difficult conditions so that Surface has all this but without scratches, warped housing parts (absolutely not self-evident), the pressure point ailing buttons (OK, are only 2 :)) survives or other visible or palpable complaints. Even the stand clicks still clean and works without difficulty. Really really great!

All in all I am therefore become a big fan of this device, but also want the criticisms a few words so that the review is not so one-sided.
