Our daughter (12 years) had some time interested in a robot. After a short trip to another robot kit we landed at the Mindstorms. The fear that it's more of children's toys, was completely in vain. The structure of the attached robot was extremely easy and was made by our subsidiary in about 1 hour. Then it came to programming. Programming on the block itself is a bit tedious and not so much fun. But when I had my daughter showed the Grunzüge programming on the PC, everything was great. The robot had a few minutes suddenly 2 sensors and was after 30 mintues programming able to look in the room, a light source and to walk there. When debugging the program, mainly just a Customizing thresholds and increments, I have helped a little, but the sense of achievement was there very quickly. Our daughter was unstoppable, the 2nd program was done without help in 20 minutes. Robbi is now running around the room and called the color that can be seen in front of the light sensor. The gripper arm is already built, shortly Robbi will also carry things around.
