After a very controversial cover album - Taxi - Bryan Ferry released a year later again an album with their own, mostly very calm and rhythmically deeply touching songs. Already the very first title - Do not Want To Know - heard this miraculous and soothing atmosphere so incredibly well I like at Ferry's music. Although Ferry on - Mamouna - much farther from his musical roots, and especially by his group Roxy Music, he understands it skillfully, writing music, the feelings generated that could not be more beautiful. The police siren at the beginning of the second track - NYC - subtle sounds in the background, this pleasant tranquility, this album does not disturb, because the monotonous rhythm leaves the listener dive deep down into the world of absolute well-being, which also with very short Saxophone - or guitar solos will be spoiled.
Ferry painted on - Mamouna - back music in beautiful warm pictures - Your Painted Smile / The Only Face - and make it like no one else in this genre of music to create an autonomy that is absolutely unique. Although the album is consistently very very quiet, Ferry holds the handset either very exciting rhythms as in the titles - The 39 Steps, Wild Cats - and - Gemini Moon - or his unmistakable voice - Which Way To Turn - caught up to the last Title - Chain Reaction - in which he spoiled us with a great "cool-down" until complete reassurance.
Momouna - is a very quiet and beautiful album, I love to hear when I need not only peace, but also a bit want to indulge in solitary intimacy or melancholy.
