I do not know why, but I always considered Marie Antoinette as a victim who had not much to answer for. I saw her as a woman caught in the turmoil of a revolution that would explode at any moment, powerless and unfairly sacrificed. After reading the book by Stefan Zweig, this image is broken. Marie Antoinette, before being the symbol of an era, was a woman, with its flaws and qualities. I better understand his character, and the consequences of his actions. This is an excellent book by Zweig describes Marie Antoinette with less love than Mary, that is true, but nevertheless accurately.
