Immunity (Audio CD)

Customer Review

I must confess that I was made aware only recently of Jon Hopkins and this album and frankly, I wonder why I have only discovered now?

"Immunity" is for me one of the most compelling and charismatic electronic albums of the last few years and I can not remember when I did so cast a spell over a work of this style myself.
Here you do not have to do it with these typical "boom boom" stuff here class is offered, far away from the electronic unit mash with lots of references to the very large.

I could not care less whether it is "Immunity" is now to be ambient or "techno" or whatever. I hear here (for me) many references out - be it ambient, industrial bonds and Intelligent Techno - one feels reminiscent of Aphex Twin (but without the Frickeligkeit of Richard D. James), one enteckt parallels to the master of spherical sounds such as Klaus Schulze but also elements make up, for example, the soundtrack work of a certain Trent Reznor. Everything here is all of a piece: full sphere encounters absolutely deep bass sounds and the listener (it however you should be in possession of a solid to good stereo system, on these kompremierten MP3 format you can sowas not listen!) captivate.

Tracks like the opener "We dissapear", followed by the actual secret hit "Open Eye Signal" show already from the beginning, should sound good and groundbreaking electronic music today. Despite complete electronics and despite completely without vocals, this album sounds in response to: After heat and that is in electronic music indeed rather exceptional.

"Immunity" is in an excellent quality and blended here remembers the friend and connoisseur of electronic music, which is this great cinema. Thus, there is unrestricted full credit for this musical delicacy.
