Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable [3M]

Have this cable needed my Mac Pro with my Sony AV receiver to connect because I wanted to look even movies with my Mac on my projector. Originally had the idea that I have a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter get me and then another HDMI cable separately. But then in the search at Amazon, I came across this cable.
