I was excited about the first part of the novel whose structure is inetrressante and very fluid style and pleasant to read. I could not help but to be genee by the style "translation" of the book, I have been up asking if the author was well francophone. At times it was a bit like ending up before the bad translation of Millennium. For me, the description of the United States, which is described as subtle by critics, is actually fairly subtle, and only conforms to the European cliche of what the United States: We find the classic mercantilism all costs, the extreme religion of the Bible belt, weapons OTC in short all who americaines thematic interressent europeans, but not necessarily a "true" description of the United States. The love story is not credible, and I do not happen to think that even in 1975 a 15 year old girl spoke of the way in which the dialogues are written. All this part is very "nunuche". The detective novel part is very good and breathless in the first part, and in the last 300 pages, we get tired of moving suspects suspects, and the end is downright fetched the limit of anything.
