however, I am fighting for years against the "environmentalists" dogmatists, who take advantage of "catastrophism" ambient to try to impose their theses or even their vision of society
the first chapters of the book so I have liked: Claude Allegre denounces a caricature of manners certainly below the "green sect" and their lies
thereafter, things go wrong when a little brings solutions: ideas are exposed in a hurry, leaving an unfinished book inaccuracy
more serious in my opinion, part X on the biosphere and biodiversity reveals the author's shortcomings in this area. Allegre cites some authors (as any student read SVT) but allows some hazardous affirmations: Mediterranean forest fires do not reduce biodiversity (on the contrary!) And are not in any way responsible for a hypothetical scarcity of cicadas (proof type "fires Mediterranean biodiversity" on your search engine ...)
moreover, it does not even give the precise definition of biodiversity with its 3 levels (and in fact in passing some amalgam between species richness and biodiversity, two distinct concepts)
short, add in some graphics drawing and sloppy (handmade!) and you get a book whose intention is commendable in my opinion but that is simply wasted by lack of work
I still recommend reading this book for the first part, which gives some ideas up
