I decided after intensive research for the Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH (PC Games Hardware) Edition because it lt. That he however really completely permanently running on 800RPM, and uses no PWM control, I have until after you order - and before delivery - noticed. Nevertheless, it is the cooler of my choice.

Also in the final round came the Thermalright Macho HR02, which probably is quite equivalent to a total of - but is offered to me with too many different fan combinations. What is the combo of the review, I then asked myself. In addition, the Noctua NH-D14, the rausflog but because of the price. The Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH so was my choice.
It comes with a little skimpy instructions, therefore it should be mentioned: It keeps parts left as supplied with 755, 6.5.1050, 2011 each different material for AMD and Intel as well as the base. In my case I have the 1050s parts needed.
Installation is not difficult, you do not need 2 pairs of hands, how many write here. However, there is definitely a bold malice *** during installation, and a construction weakness *** 2 (in my opinion).

Once the boxed cooler that accompanied with my i7-4790K, could keep these at full capacity not even in the normal cycle of 4GHz below 100 ° C (!!!) urgent action was required. In general I have no overclocking ambitions.

4GHz clock:
The CPU is almost always kept even under full load at 60 ° C! (55-57 ° C in most cases). For this I have used Photoshop CC and an oil filter (noise> Greystoration, only as a plugin available) run over a 24MP picture ... it takes a while.

OC 4,7GHz clock:
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK provides a car-OC to function independently, the maximum values ​​determined yet are stable with which the board and the CPU. These things I have tried and lt. PassMark Software extracted good 15% increase effective.
Using the same test, the temperatures of all the cores were usually around 80 ° C. However, there were also occasionally peaks that went over 90 ° C.

As I said I have no OC ambitions, and me 15% increase in performance also no risks are worth, my PC is back on track with the 4GHz. The K version I've ever even brought me, because she is 400-500MHz faster than the non-K version. I could overclock, is a nice benefit, but not important to me.

#### CONCLUSION ####
Overall, I am so absolutely happy with the cooler. Although I would have imagined it a little quieter, but he makes up for that by its noise is completely unobtrusive and not annoying. So I can live with that.
For 40-50, - Euro I feel cooler than a perfect choice. Although the Noctua should have a superior fixing and performance, as well as cost twice as much.

When I pull the cable tie, it is a bit noisy (if you can call it at all so). In any case the power supply is still louder than the Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH. And I wanted to show it.

*** The fat trick:
What you never see on the product photos: The complete coolness is screwed by means of a "plank" with the board. It is therefore not about - as I thought - at the four ends of the cross bracket which is mounted on the rear side of the motherboard attached directly.
But a plank is carried out between the slats and the heatspreader, and then with 2 screws (!) - Ie one per page - the horizontal plank is screwed (the radiator piggyback) on the motherboard.

Or. left and right solid loose, which affects the heat dissipation. Here I recommend always patiently to make only half a turn per bolt, so as not to lose balance.

*** 2 The construction Weakness

EDIT !!: The "design weakness" appears to be probably widespread. Anyway, this is the predominant type, as well as all other manufacturers fortify their cooler. I find not good, but then probably at least not a disadvantage of this cooler alone!
