Equipment and processing:
The A630 is quite well processed by a processing perspective. If the gap dimensions on the device and it creaks nothing not even when accessing hearty courage. However, Gigaset has an area selected here in a glossy finish (front and back) which very easily prone to scratching and staining. Fingerprints can be seen therefore quite quickly on the phone. The phone keys are rubberized and have a crisp pressure point - accidentally pressing a button, therefore, excluded. The phone has a color screen, which hardly but provides added value compared with a monochrome display. The color schemes that can be selected differ little and look in my eyes, in contrast to the stronger contrast White / Black worse. Advantage of the display is that quite a lot of information is displayed in the main view. Also can be adjusted whether it should remain on standby, to act as Bidlschirmschoner or should be switched off entirely, which is perfectly solved. Otherwise, the phone actually has all the necessary features for a phone, without having to place unnecessary gimmicks. Worth mentioning is definitely the full duplex speakerphone. Many cheaper model only offer a simple handsfree what comfort when making calls but diminishes. The integrated AB 25 minutes of recording time is appropriate and can be heard on both the base and the handset, a listening during recording is also possible. All in all, both the facilities and the processing the price absolutely reasonable.
Handling:
Compared to the S820 I missed in daily use no equipment feature, except that you can not record via Bluetooth phonebook. So you have to enter the number manually once and then can be optionally transferred to the other handsets individual entries as well as the entire phone book. Is solved nice that you can assign the handsets own name so that both the allocation to rooms as well as internal calls are simple and you do not have to think about where the handset Int 1 is now. The menu structure is very simple and unfortunately irritates the color display hardly, here a bit more attention to detail in the form of beautiful symbols would have done well, but that's not a real shortcoming. The ringtones offer plenty of choice and it can be set up caller groups with own ringtones and assign your own tones for internal calls. Even a night's rest can be configured.
Gigaset typically allows the caller list to all calls or only missed calls configure. Also an ECO DECT function is reduced on board, the radiation from the phones, but at the expense of reach and standby time. Write SMS you can take the unit and also in addition is also an alarm clock integrated, but I do not use these functions.
The use of handsets is fairly intuitive of equip, especially if you have already used Gigaset phones. Overall, the phone does not weaken during handling.
Standby time:
A major strength of the phone. According to the manual the phone to first be fully charged and then fully discharged again. It took a week until the handsets went out again. Here I was really surprised, because I have both the ECO and ECO + mode activates. However, the displays switch on at my configuration from standby. Nevertheless, this is a remarkable maturity and significantly better than in my old S820.
Call quality:
Granted, this does not quite reach the brilliance of the S820, which is bearable in view of the price difference. Nevertheless, they can certainly be described as good. Only a slight noise during handsfree interfere with the interlocutor, but it nevertheless remains very easy to understand. Compared with the Sinus A206 are both about the same, whereby the sine the noise rather on the handset side, and not to hear the interlocutor were. The actual volume of the earphones is very good, which is expected in speakerphone go one step louder, at the highest volume setting, this is at best acceptable. In noisy environments, you will but mostly anyway shun the handsfree function so that I can personally live with the volume.
Compared with the Sinus A 206:
That would have been my alternative and would have cost something in the same. The A206 has in my eyes, the slightly better feel. Moreover, it is a bit heavier, so it feels even higher quality. But the display is not as good as the A630 and the settings are less extensive. In the call quality are both on a par, with the A630 on the handset side sounded better, and the A206 with the interlocutor. I personally, however, would decide again for the A630.
Conclusion:
A thoroughly enjoyable phone. There are many settings (esp. For the display) and the facilities are adequate. For me it was especially the full-duplex speakerphone function and the fairly good AB. Although the graphic display shows a lot of information and if desired even in standby, but would not have to be designed in color notwenig legally, a real benefit has not it. Missed only compared to the S820 I only option is to fill the phone book of the phone via Bluetooth, but then you have to buy much more expensive devices.
Considering the price / performance, the A630 is a very good phone, with no frills. I can recommend it.
Update:
Less than a year are the phones with us now in use. Despite gruff handling by children show the handsets no neurological deficits. Everything works as it should and even numerous falls have the handsets survived. The durability is also very good at A630 therefore out of my eyes.
