Among the pluses (especially the Career Mode) is one very clear:
* The intro to the career mode is the bomb! Instead of just saying "You're a young skater so on the way to glory" (a la many common sports games) is told one of the best and most creative stories for ages, with great animations and cameo appearances of the featured skaters. Even the design of the player character and his infinitely varied equipment is fun and comes thanks to a good editor slight of hand.
* A huge and with endless details lovingly furnished town called San Vanalona (spots from SF, Vancouver, Barcelona, in a ...) where you can go almost anywhere long and enjoy themselves in different environments. One can sometimes just for an hour driving around and looking for locations for tricks, of which there anywhere which is as true in cities and which are not at all times relevant career.
* The size of the city was made manageable by a transport system, Quick-links on a map and markers session, so you do not have to push through the streets forever (unless you like that, because that of course goes well).
* Posture and board can be controlled in all conceivable directions. Grabs, grinds, flips, slides, it's just everything in it and on it. The control is achieved realistically and creatively, for some maneuvers but almost frustratingly difficult. But that's just in real life if you want to learn a new trick ...
* Not that simple (which behave all quite intelligent) to meet Gar in the occasional bustle of cars, pedestrians and other skaters his duties. One soon learns to hate Grandma, Taxis and sports cars ;-)
* Very liquid trick animations which can be combined in almost any way and connect to Lines. While at the same not so implausible Mega-Lines as partially with Tony Hawk.
* Good opportunities to document its successes in the form of videos and images (and possibly to share with others)
* The background music is very well done and quite varied (sounds a little less)
* Compared to other EA games breakneck load and store hours
* Larger bugs are not noticed in many hours of play (again very pleasing in comparison with other EA titles)
Something negative can I find:
* Too bad that there is no way to get off the board so as to come up edges or steps without detour, or leak in a failed trick without board or jump off instead to plunge so often. Thus, the skater behaves sometimes a bit "stupid"
* Some tricks that you need for specific tasks are very difficult to carry out, the difference especially in the leadership of the right stick is sometimes minimal
* Some pro challenges and photo shoots is not quite evident from the animation and trick instructions, which is now expected from exactly one. This frustrates some, and thus you do it sometimes even too complicated.
* Some challenges are very difficult, for other very simply without this being associated with the game progress
* The promotion of the most skateboard equipment is elegant in the gameplay involved (in the sequences of the respective sponsors Pros are shown in 2 skate shops you can buy new clothes with the money earned, etc.). Among these, only the presumed Permium sponsor Adidas has gotten a little too prominent place in the game, with its own shop, posters and (rarely) "buy here" Weblink Notes.
A great and original game that the skateboard top dogs "Tony Hawk" clearly displaced: But overall, said remains the bottom line. In much of a true simulation for hours of fun instead of a mere arcade game. Hard to believe that there are still studios at EA who are so creative.
