The scope of supply:
----------------
Made the Google Nexus 5 by LG. In Aquatube is a tool to the SIM card in the device to insert a Quick Start Guide for Smartphone, a microUSB cable and the associated charger.
Is operated smartphone with a micro-SIM card, so do not like other new smartphones with the very small nano-SIM.
Unfortunately, a headset or other accessories not included.
Design / Processing:
-------------------
Despite the plastic housing used makes the Nexus 5 in terms of processing and feel a very good impression. No creaking or wobbling, everything feels good. With 130 grams, the phone is about 9 grams lighter than its predecessor made with significantly improved technology. Clear the Nexus 5 is not a lightweight but not expected even with a 4.95-inch device. The weight is perfect for the size.
In terms of design, the developers have created a very simple phone. I like the simple design very well, on the back of the smartphone identified by the large lettering "Nexus". The large camera does something here.
The rubberised back, the smartphone sits perfectly in the hand and does not slip on smooth surfaces.
Display / CPU / GPU / camera / storage / data transfer / Battery
------------------------------------
The flashy 4.95 inches Full HD IPS display with 1980 x dissolves in 1080 and has an extremely sharp and colorful projection. Images and texts seen on the Nexus 5 from fabulous. The maximum brightness leaves nothing to be desired, so the display is easy to read even in direct sunlight. Through the built Gorilla Glass, the display is relatively unempflichdlich against scratches.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 4 cores in conjunction with the Adreno 330 graphics unit leaves nothing to be desired in terms of performance. Whether games, videos, or other complex multimedia applications ... the Nexus 5 makes everywhere a good job and is equipped with its hardware for the future.
From the camera in the new Nexus I expected more. As early as the Nexus 4, the camera could not really convince. Under optimal conditions (light conditions, etc.), the camera takes good pictures, however, the conditions are right, the images are not so quickly out of focus and / or blurred. Also, the autofocus takes too long, for quick snapshots the camera is therefore only of limited use. The pictures look just too often not good. Pity!
Available is the smartphone with 16 or 32 GB of memory and available in black or white. Memory is not expandable.
With the new data standard LTE, the Nexus 5 is now ready for the future with respect to the data transfer. Unfortunately I could not test the LTE function. In Dusseldorf, but I had an excellent voice and data connection without interruptions.
How long does the battery last through naturally comes sharply on the usage behavior. I could use (to evening morning) smartphone with normal use about one day. However, if a lot of multimedia applications such as games or videos can be run as a half of the day probably know this. But this is completely normal for current smartphones. What annoyed me something that is not just the battery is replaceable.
Operating system / software
-----------
The Nexus 5 is the first smartphone on the Android 4.4 is available in full. Android 4.4 works in direct comparison to previous versions considerably tidier and entschlackter. Whether lockscreen, homescreen or menu everything looks a bit different. The apps have partially preserved adjustments. Whether the new look is like, as always, a matter of taste, to me personally, the new design tells.
In my test period, the new Android 4.4 was very stable.
Since this is a smartphone directly from Google installed no disturbing additional Apps.
Conclusion:
-----
I was the new Nexus 5 convinces in the most points! Very good, I like the simple but well-made plastic housing, the cooperation of hardware and software works very well here. Everything is going very fast and flowing, multimedia freaks or players are guaranteed to get their money's worth. The display is large, bright, super sharp and colorful.
Not so good enjoyed the mediocre camera, no expandable memory and the non-replaceable battery. However, there will never be the perfect smartphone well. From me get the Google Nexus 5 is a strong buy recommendation!
