Thanks to Blu-ray drive flawless Blu-ray player via HDMI to the TV.
Battery life depending on the situation. I have on battery (because power cord to connect forgotten) Lord Of The Rings Extended to view 3, ie which means to look far over 4 hours for movies.
Power:
Any job demands are made without the slightest effort.
Game Performance:
Almost all the latest game titles let you play at the highest resolution with high or very high details, where the driver still makes little problems. DirectX 11 games are occasionally problems.
Example Dirt 3 DX11 25-29 fps (frames per second = acts playable but unnatural or something choppy)
DX9 45 fps minimum (Excellent)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 on DX11 somewhat choppy
on DX9 with 4x antialiasing superfluid.
So for gamers few keywords in which settings are games to play superfluid: (all even with demos or similar tested)
Dirt 3 DX9 everything high (max for DX9)
Bad Company 2 DX9 everything max
Splinter Cell Conviction everything max
Witcher 2 all high resolution 13 **
Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 all max
Deus Ex 3 DX9 everything max
Crysis 2 all max
Starcraft 2 max everything
In short. All current title run super long as you put them on DirectX9. on 11 bit choppy. (But according to information gathered is HP already at a driver update to it, as the card may do more.)
Also a small driver problem is the part manual adjustment when and which graphics card is genutz.
When a game starts and jerky, just minimize and simply right-click in the tray on the ATI icon and then on "switchable graphics". If there the current program "unassigned" is on, just once on it and put it on "high performance". But per game it only needs to be set once.
Fan of Ati comes under load to about the volume of a standard desktop PC, ergo one probably for sensitive people blow too much.
In normal operation, barely perceptible.
All in all, a multimedia notebook, the or as a full desktop replacement has no equal as a viable gaming platform in this price range.
