Below I present the key features of the projector, and will detail:
Picture:
The projector has a 3500 ANSI bright lamp in normal mode with a contrast ratio of 10000:. 1 Thus, the use is also less in darkened rooms without problems possible and the device is well suited for presentations in business. The projected image is rich in contrast, bright and sharp.
The projector can be used either standing or mounted on the ceiling (then turned through 180 °). Ceiling mounting is automatically recognized by the instrument and the image is rotated. In addition, the use of a rear projection screen is possible.
Regarding canvas and wall the way following: the projector produces on an ordinary white wall a very good picture. I have thrown it to a wall with woodchip wallpaper. Only if the projected image has a high proportion of white, I can see the grain show through the wallpaper. Otherwise, the image can compete in terms of quality with the presentation on a screen right already. Still separately hang a canvas, so it can be superfluous. This is also for mobile use a practical matter, for example, a customer presentation or on-site training. PowerPoint slides can be quite supple throw with the projector and to a plain white wall.
Also for home use already does it work on the wall, but I personally would prefer there but a real canvas as a screen color, contrast and black levels brings again significantly better advantage. In a presentation that may sometimes be negligible, but the home theater rather not.
Image size / distance
Minimum distance for the projection is 1m, the maximum distance is 9,80m at a ratio of 1.48 1.62: 1 and between projection distance from the projection surface. The projector therefore needs a normal distance. In smaller rooms, I would therefore befitting a beamer with a lower projection rate up to a short-throw projector (ratio about 1: 1) rates for very small rooms.
Home theater / 3D
Now I have talked a lot about business use. The P1510 is however well positioned for home theater use. With a Full HD 1080p resolution, he brings an excellent, sharp contours and rich image in both films, as well as sports on the big screen.
With the 3D setting comes to real cinema experience. The presentation of 3D films is excellent, the spatial depth sharp and detailed. The device uses the active shutter technology. By shutter glasses, the image is indeed a little darker, but my feeling for even more contrast and excellent with a color fastness. The high brightness of 3500 ANSI may incidentally really play to their strength in the 3D area. Also with prolonged view this 3D experience will not exhausting, even 144Hz goodness. I tested the projector with The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug 3D and Monsters University 3D. Both the live action, as well as the animated film I liked exceptionally well on the P1510.
Sound:
The projector has built a small mono speaker. This is enough to play with sound presentations of video or sound effects (there are really people who films with race car noises change their PowerPoint) For everything else, the use of a sound bar or Dolby Digital system recommended.
Volume:
Beamer and fan generate ~ 33db volume during operation. This can be heard in quiet scenes in movies before. Personally I do not really bother though, except I pay it directly. In Eco mode, the volume is
Networking / ports:
The projector has the usual ports for D-Sub (VGA cable), HDMI / MHL, HDMI 1.4a, RCA video, S-video and a serial interface. It is very convenient that one of the HDMI ports also has MHL. Thus, you can connect a WiFi dongle which is powered directly from beamer with power, and control your fixture on Acer eDisplay, DLNA (home server) and Miracast. The MHL system and the dongle are especially handy for permanent ceiling installation because no additional power source for networking is required.
At the terminals is to be noted that these are the sides of the device and not the rear. Already attached cable for ceiling mounting must be about 20cm to extend than with a projector with rear ports.
To fix the ceiling mount the projector has three threads for screws. I have the projector mounted to the favorable My Wall H16-1WL where I can adjust all screw positions both laterally and forward and backward. That was no problem.
Accessories / Durability:
A new lamp circa 150. The shelf life of the lamps is given by Acer with 3500 hours in normal mode and 7000 in the extreme-Eco mode. The truth is somewhere in between. Normal Eco mode, you can very well use but for 3D movies, I always activate the normal mode, even if I have blacked out the room that comes simply the best over. If you darken the room a bit, but you can project through the (Extreme) Eco mode just long presentations in meetings or seminars lamp very efficient.
For the 3D enjoyment, it needs special active shutter glasses that support the DLP Link. Normal shutter glasses like the TV not working. For this you can either take the glasses Acer DLP 3D shutter glasses black or a little cheaper brand. I've been using for a long time even with another projector, the 3D Eyewear for DLP LINK and have both the comfort, as well as the image quality satisfied.
