And I was caught.
Never -or rarement- I read a novel at once so beautiful and poetic and of a rare violence, a cruelty beyond belief in horror. This will takes guts. Yet David Peace reader ("1974", etc.) that is no more relaxing, I had to stop a few times during the (very) violent battle scenes that leave you rang. Out of this reading, it is not soon forget the characters of the judge and Glanton, among the worst literary scrapings that the Earth is worn. Scrapings paid by other scrapings to make what is called genocide, a massacre, butcher, under the books of "official" history are careful not to name to avoid offending the spirits ...
But I think especially that the worst is that this "anti-western" (expression of the 4th cover) is based on real events.
One thing is certain: Cormac McCarthy's definitely a great novelist.
