But now comes the big BUT, it must lead to the devaluation in my view:
The charging cable (the cable is also a TMC) NO OPERATION came with me. Had I not with the Navi ordered at the same time two exchange charger for 4 per euro, because that had once abandoned by the previous model after 4 years his mind (after 4 years of regular use, mind you!), I would first of all can not use the device ,
Amazon was found, as always, very helpful and exchanged the cable by sending me a completely new Navi and asked me to get out of the box only the new cable, the old into set with a covering note and the whole thing again with Retoure- bill to return (I wanted to keep the first Navi because it okay and quite a bit of updates and personal settings was already on it).
On October 7, 2014 confirmed to me Amazon to getting the returned item, ie the replaced cables had arrived a few days earlier with me. And now the kicker:
Starting today - and after only 2 months use - ALSO WORKS THE NEW CHARGER NO MORE !!!
I do not know what will be built for an unbelievable botch since TomTom (or suppliers); I can only say: The best Navi is good of course nothing at all if you can never recharge it due to a defective cable. Of course, you can get a cheap cable without TMC function yet equal buy with it; but that's probably not the whole point, right?
Basically, I can therefore only warn against the purchase of the equipment, because it is very likely that you will be angry first of all, as soon as you put the cable car into the charging socket. Nevertheless, two pluses for the unit, but three Lousy for the inability to establish a working cable.
UPDATE 3 December:
Amazon has again reacted very quickly and offered me 3 options to choose from:
- Refund of 20 Euro (= 20% of the total purchase price);
- Renewed exchange of the cable as described above;
- Withdrawal of the unit and refund the purchase price in full.
I opted for the 20 Euro. The least are not broken. ;-) Seriously: What am I supposed to do with a new TMC cable, then maybe again stops just a couple of weeks - or even defective arrives? The 4-Euro cable does it, and I also have in all cases even a power cord for the power outlet at home, and the TMC function I have never used anyway. I prefer to listen to traffic information.
